Arrowhead Plant (Syngonium podophyllum)

Arrowhead Plant is a versatile tropical houseplant that brings fresh, lively foliage to bright rooms with a simple care routine. It is also known as Arrowhead Vine, and it can be kept compact with pruning or allowed to trail and climb for a fuller look. The leaf shape adds natural texture that makes shelves, desktops, and plant corners feel more finished. With steady moisture and gentle light, it grows reliably and rewards you with new leaves that keep the plant looking active.

Distinctive Features

This plant starts with compact growth and juvenile leaves that show a clear arrowhead shape, then develops longer, vining stems as it matures. Foliage is typically medium green and may show lighter tones along veins depending on the selection and light level. It can be trained up a support for a more upright look or allowed to cascade for a soft, trailing effect. Like many aroids, it contains calcium oxalate and should be kept out of reach of pets and children who may chew leaves.

Growing Conditions

  • Sun: Bright, indirect light is ideal, and it tolerates lower light but grows slower and may stretch.
  • Soil: Use a well-draining indoor potting mix that holds some moisture without staying soggy.
  • Water: Water when the top 1 to 2 inches of mix feel dry, then let excess drain fully.
  • USDA Zones: 10 to 12 for outdoor growth in frost-free climates, and it is grown indoors in all zones.
  • Mature Size: About 1 to 3 feet tall when kept compact, with trailing stems that can reach 3 to 6 feet over time.
  • Habit: Climbing and trailing vine that can be trained upright on a stake or allowed to spill.
  • Humidity: Average indoor humidity works, but higher humidity supports larger, cleaner leaves.

Ideal Uses

  • Hanging Baskets: Let stems trail for a soft, layered look that fills space quickly.
  • Climbing Display: Train on a moss pole or stake for a taller, more architectural form.
  • Tabletop Plant: Keep pruned for a compact, bushy shape that fits desks and counters.
  • Bathroom Or Kitchen: Use in naturally humid rooms for smoother growth and fewer crispy edges.
  • Focal Point: Place in a clean planter where the arrow-shaped foliage becomes the main visual feature in the room.
  • Mixed Houseplant Groupings: Pair with upright plants to add a trailing layer and soften edges.

Low Maintenance Care

  • Pruning: Pinch or trim stems to encourage branching and keep the plant fuller and more compact.
  • Watering: Avoid keeping the mix constantly wet, since soggy soil can lead to root problems.
  • Feeding: Feed lightly in spring and summer if growth slows, using a balanced houseplant fertilizer at a reduced rate.
  • Training: Add a pole or trellis if you want larger leaves and a more upright climbing habit.
  • Repotting: Repot when roots crowd the pot, typically every 1 to 2 years, using fresh mix and good drainage.

Why Choose Arrowhead Plant?

  • Adaptable Light: Performs well in bright, indirect light and tolerates lower light in many homes.
  • Flexible Styling: Can be grown as a compact plant, a trailing spiller, or a climbing accent.
  • Fast Satisfaction: Produces new growth readily in warm conditions with consistent moisture.
  • Easy To Propagate: Stem cuttings root readily, making it simple to thicken a pot or start new plants.
  • Fresh Leaf Texture: Arrow-shaped foliage adds a clean, modern look that pairs well with many interiors.
  • Low Daily Effort: Simple watering and occasional pruning keep it looking polished.

Arrowhead Plant rewards steady, simple care with reliable growth and a flexible form you can style to match your space. Keep it in bright, indirect light, water after the top layer dries, and prune as needed to shape it. Over time, it becomes a lush, easygoing plant that adds movement and softness wherever you place it.

Sleek, professional look, goes well with blue and grey stuff! Probably dark suits too.
I might not like wearing ties (I do not), but sometimes, I get roped into having to go somewhere and slip on a tie... I really try to keep ye ole wardrobe very simplistic. Grey and a blue blazer. I have a couple of "fancy" suits, but I try to avoid wearing them... Then, when I do, I want them to look sharp, and a nice tie will help to bring it all together as they say! This is a very sharp looking tie, and it blends in great with my grey and blue outfits. Sure it is a tie, but being that it looks so sharp, and just perfectly matches the outfits? I love it. Five Stars!

Cheap Polyester Tie
I’m not sure there is such thing as a “premium” polyester but the fabric feels rather cheap and the width of the tie is rather thin. Probably good for a kid to use, but I wouldn’t use this for work or business and would apply the moved saved trying to get a cheap tie into a nicer silk tie. Pros: - Inexpensive Cons: - Cheap polyester fabric - Narrow width
