General Information and Cultivation3: A slow growing, moisture-loving aroid with an upright habit, branching/clumping as the plant matures. Terrarium grown specimens can reach 200mm in height, with a maximum leaf blade size of 115mm×35mm. Philodendron ‘Pincushion’ prefers humid terrarium conditions with a small amount of ventilation. Tankquility cultures this clone at about 23° Celsius, in a granular substrate based on akadama and scoria, or in a coir-peat based mix. Fertilize moderately.

Propagation by tip and stem cutting is easy.

Note: Several miniature-sized Philodendron are sold under the trade name “Pincushion” in the U.S. Consulting with a number of aroid specialists, Tankquility believes the name “Pincushion” applies to this clone.

Ease of Care: Easy

Durable
My dogs love this one so much that we had to order another one so they wouldn't fight over it. They usually destroy toys in less than a day, but this one has lasted months now.

Determined Chewer Approved
Durable, but not impenetrable! My 68lb Lab got this in the mail today and happily chewed on it for around an hour non-stop. She is a strong and determined chewer, but not a super chewer. She destroys "moderate" rubber chew toys in a flash, but doesn't like hard nylon chews, so finding a rubber chew that can withstand her dilligent gnawing and suit her preferences is a rarity. This one absolutely is a win! The material is most similar to nylabone's Rhino rubber (compared to the Crazy Ball), and with time and continued chomps it will sustain damage, but for my dog (strong, not super chewer) it takes a lot of time to wear out and the early breaks are tiny like specks of sand. It's a safe choice for my dog, and she loves the texture of this toy!

The One
It’s actually indestructible 🤘🏻🫡 My dog has destroyed every “aggressive chewer” dog toy on this website. Finally found one that is true to its name. Will be ordering many more.

Watch your aggressive chewer
My pit bull chewed up one of these in short order. Probably OK for normal dogs but not aggressive chewers. UPDATE: He swallowed a piece and had to have surgery for obstruction…
