Golden Hawaiian Bamboo – Bambusa vulgaris ‘Vittata’
Golden Hawaiian Bamboo (Bambusa vulgaris ‘Vittata’) is a striking clumping bamboo known for its bright golden-yellow canes highlighted with irregular green striping. The vibrant color and tall upright growth make this bamboo a standout feature in tropical and subtropical landscapes.
This variety grows into a large, graceful clump that works well for privacy hedges, landscape screens, and bold architectural accents. When planted in rows with proper spacing, Golden Hawaiian Bamboo gradually fills in to create a tall living screen that provides privacy while adding color and movement to the landscape.
Like all bamboo we offer, Golden Hawaiian Bamboo is a non-invasive clumping bamboo. It expands slowly from the base rather than spreading aggressively through underground runners, making it a dependable choice for residential landscapes.
Best Uses
- Tall privacy hedges and living fences
- Tropical landscape screens
- Decorative bamboo with colorful canes
- Specimen bamboo for large landscapes
