L. augustifolia are English lavender varieties which have a stronger and sweeter aroma. They are cold hardy and can tolerate snow, frost and ice in winter and live for many years.

All potted plants will look like the green/sliver shrub and might have a few flowers. The shape and look of the flowers tend to differ between the species.
How to care for your plant:
Lavender prefers to be planted right away in a sunny spot, and sandy loam is the best soil type.
The plant likes continuous water until roots establish. Be sure to not overwater as roots will rot.
Once established, deadheading the flowers once they have faded will stimulate the plant to produce more flowers. This video will help you learn when and how to prune your lavender.
