An excellent landscape plant, Very Fine Wine, it has good vigor and a compact, upright, rounded, dome-shaped habit. It is an excellent specimen in garden or container but is shown to best effect when grouped or massed in beds and borders.
Cold hardy to Zone 4 and easy to grow, weigela grows best in sunny to partly shady locations with moderately fertile, moist, well-draining soil but tolerates clay soil. Weigela Very Fine Wine has good tolerance to wind and rain and is deer resistant.
