Wild-harvested chile originally from central Sonora, Mexico. These chiltepin plants produce small fruits that pack a punch. Try them sprinkled over vanilla ice cream ... or use to spice any food you like! Immature green fruits are traditionally pickled. Its fruits are small-pea sized and are very hot, almost comparable to the Thai Chile. It has a fruity flavor with an instant warm spreading heat. Germination of chiltepins can be difficult. We've had good success with this variety and others using our recommended method. From our Seed Bank Collection.
