Good for beginners? Yes. Parlor Palm is one of the most forgiving palms you can grow indoors. It tolerates lower light, adapts to average home humidity, and grows slowly enough that it rarely needs repotting.
Safe for cats and dogs? Yes. Parlor Palm is non-toxic to pets, making it a great choice for pet-friendly homes.
Light needs: Low to bright indirect light. One of very few palms that genuinely tolerates low-light rooms. Avoid direct sun which can scorch the delicate fronds.
Care at a glance: Water when the top inch of soil is dry. Do not let it sit in water. Feed monthly in spring and summer. Mist occasionally to boost humidity and keep fronds looking fresh. Avoid moving it frequently as it prefers stable conditions.
