- Albion (Fragaria × ananassa 'Albion'): An everbearing variety renowned for its large, deep red berries. Its firm flesh makes it an excellent choice for container gardening, as the fruit maintains its texture even in high heat.
- Profruit Quatre Saisons (Fragaria × ananassa 'Profruit'): The go-to choice for authentic wild strawberry taste. It performs beautifully in window boxes and planters thanks to its compact growth habit, providing an easy-to-reach harvest.
- Seascape (Fragaria × ananassa 'Seascape'): Stands out for its high productivity and impressive fruit size. While it thrives in the ground, it is highly successful in large pots where its fruit-laden stems cascade elegantly over the sides.
- Lila (Fragaria × ananassa 'Lila'): An exclusive variety prized for its vigour. Its robustness makes it ideal for raised beds and balcony pots, offering a reliable production regardless of weather fluctuations.
In-Ground Gardening
Growing in the ground allows these mature plants to reach their full productivity potential and create a long-lasting edible carpet.
- Soil and Planting: Prefer rich, loose, well-drained soil. Dig a hole twice as wide as the pot. Ensure the crown (base of the stems) remains level with the soil surface.
- Fertilization: Amend with mature compost at planting time. Apply a biological granular small-fruit fertilizer every spring and a booster dose in July to sustain production.
- Maintenance: Straw mulch is highly recommended to protect large fruits from ground contact, retain moisture, and suppress weeds.
- Winter Protection: Once the ground has frozen, cover plants with 10 cm of straw to insulate roots and protect buds from freeze-thaw cycles.
Container, Planter, and Large Pot Gardening
The 1-gallon format is perfect for instantly creating productive urban gardens. Growing in containers offers several key advantages:
- Cleanliness and Health: In pots, the fruit naturally hangs over the edge instead of sitting on the soil. This keeps the berries perfectly clean and significantly reduces the risk of rot and fungal diseases.
- Containers and Potting Mix: Use a pot 25 to 30 cm in diameter with drainage holes. Use a high-quality potting mix rich in organic matter.
- Fertilization: Because nutrients leach quickly, apply a liquid biological fertilizer every two weeks, preferably high in potassium, to support non-stop blooming.
- Watering: Containers dry out fast. Water daily during heatwaves to prevent wilting; soil should remain moist but never waterlogged.
- Winter Care: Roots in containers are more vulnerable to hard frost. In the fall, transplant them into the garden or move the container to a cool, dark place (like an unheated garage) after the first frost.

A book covering most of the aspects of digital forensics
Format: Paperback
In my opinion, this book is really well written with a flowing and progressing layout. The chapters build up from the basics of digital forensics walking through all the core concepts up until specialized areas of digital forensics such as dead box forensics , network investigations, and online and #OSINT investigations.
Not only does the book give comprehensive information on all the key aspects of digital forensics such as searching, analyzing, acquiring, and securing digital evidence but it also provides its readers a taste of how it is like conducting digital forensics examinations in a professional setting such as law enforcement.
Piecing together theoretical knowledge with the professional settings the knowledge will be utilized in, the author made sure to include key details such as the different types of graphical evidence examiners may encounter such as child sexual assault, the importance of chain of custody if the case were to go to trial, forensically sound examination environments and how you must maintain control of the environment and much more.
Not only does the book cover in detail the foundations of digital forensics but it also covers some of the advanced topics such as RAM forensics, internet evidence, cloud computing, and OSINT investigations. These topics build on the foundations discussed earlier in the book and are very critical as real-life cases usually encompass most of these intricacies. Understanding what evidence may be discovered in each of these locations and how to use the tools are very critical for a successful career as a digital forensic analyst.
Report writing is often overlooked but actually is the most important aspect in digital forensics. The last two chapters are a must-read for everyone in this field. The author discusses writing credible reports and ensuring they are peer-reviewed along with ethics.
This was a welcome read, being so many want to get into this space and are unaware of the atrocities they may find. Whether you're just starting out in computer forensics or want to expand your knowledge of digital forensics. This is an excellent addition to your reading list.
