Olivia Graptoveria, botanically listed as Graptoveria 'Olivia', is a live succulent plant selected for its distinctive form and ornamental appeal. Natural color, size, form, and presentation may vary slightly with season, maturity, and growing conditions.

Graptoveria 'Olivia' is a delightful succulent hybrid between Graptopetalum and Echeveria, popular among gardeners for its decorative appeal and ease of care. Here's a detailed look at its morphological characteristics, growth habits, maintenance points, and reproduction methods:

Morphological Characteristics

  • Appearance: Graptoveria 'Olivia' features rosettes that can grow up to 6 inches in diameter. The leaves are thick, fleshy, and spoon-shaped, boasting a stunning color transition from green in the center to pink and red at the edges under sufficient sunlight.
  • Texture: The leaves are smooth with a waxy coating that helps in water retention.
  • Flowers: This plant produces small, bell-shaped flowers in shades of yellow or orange during the spring, which emerge on long, arching inflorescence.

Growth Habits

  • Light Requirements: Graptoveria 'Olivia' thrives in bright, indirect sunlight. The leaf colors become more vibrant when the plant is exposed to at least 4-6 hours of sunlight daily.
  • Temperature: It prefers mild climates and is hardy in USDA zones 9 to 11. It does not tolerate frost well.
  • Watering: Watering should be moderate during the growing season (spring and summer) and reduced in the winter. The soil should be allowed to dry out between waterings.

Maintenance Points

  • Soil: Well-draining soil is crucial. A cactus or succulent mix is ideal, possibly amended with coarse sand or perlite for better drainage.
  • Potting: A pot with adequate drainage holes is necessary to prevent water accumulation and root rot. Repotting every few years helps refresh the soil and accommodate growth.
  • Fertilizing: Feed with a diluted low-nitrogen succulent fertilizer during the growing season for best results.

Reproduction Method

  • Leaf Propagation: The easiest and most common method for propagating Graptoveria 'Olivia' is through leaf cuttings. Simply pluck a leaf gently from the rosette, let it callous over for a few days, and then place it on well-draining soil. The leaf will eventually sprout new roots and a new rosette.
  • Offsets: Sometimes, 'Olivia' produces small offsets around the base of the plant. These can be carefully separated and replanted in a new pot once they have developed their own roots.

Graptoveria 'Olivia' is relatively low-maintenance and suitable for beginners. It makes an excellent choice for rock gardens, succulent arrangements, or as a potted plant indoors where its colorful leaves can add a vibrant touch to the décor. With minimal care, it can flourish and bring lasting beauty to any setting.

Not indestructible, but is very tough.
Pattern Name: Ball, Size: Large - 3 Inch / 12 oz
My dog destroyed this, but it took a little longer than it usually does. Would love to know how the lifetime replacement works. There is no information that I see on how to contact the seller.

Would buy again
Pattern Name: Cage Ball, Size: Large - 4 Inch / 8.5 oz
This is a great ball! Both my dogs love it. Queensland is a heavy chewer and I can see no damage. Catahoula loves to fetch and kick after kick and retrieval this ball shows no wear. It’s easy to pick up and is a good size for my dogs.

Very Durable Ball
Pattern Name: Cage Ball, Size: Large - 4 Inch / 8.5 oz
This ball has held up to regular puppy chewing for 3 months now. At first I was worried my retriever would get her mouth stuck in it, but it hasn't been a problem since she has gotten bigger. Supervision required for smaller pups. One thing to note is that the ball was shipped with a strong rubber smell, but that has gone away with use and washing. Super easy to clean! It is a heavier ball making it bounce well and it doesn't damage the walls. Super durable. She's been chewing on it every day and there is no damage to it at all. The scratches, holes, or pieces missing. It's stayed intact for months!

Good ball, but not really for super chewers
Pattern Name: Ball, Size: Large - 3 Inch / 12 oz
This ball is tough...my (foster) dog is tougher. It is a heavy rubber ball, but my Staffordshire bull terrier is able to destroy these balls within about a couple of hours. We never let him chew on these unmonitored. If you have a moderate chewer, this is probably ok for your dog; for any super chewers, you might want to pass. We first bought one of these balls when we learned our foster dog (fresh out of the shelter) had heartworms. We knew we had to keep him occupied somehow, and it is by far his favorite toy (he loves the doughnut-shaped toy as well). We bought MANY of these during his heartworm treatment. Now that he is done with his treatment we won't buy any more of these. They are expensive for what they are. And just be aware that the lifetime warranty only applies to material or manufacturing flaws...not the actual toughness of the product.
