It makes strawberries fruit more heavily, keeps hornworms off the tomatoes, and increases yields of cucumbers, gourds, and other fruiting plants. Borage is more than just a pleasant edible herb. It's a garden guardian, and it belongs in your sunny annual bed as well as the vegetable patch and herb garden.

An annual (or biennial) with handsome small blue blooms as well as long, toothy leaves, Borage Seeds grow quickly and self-sows readily. It needs to be direct sown where it is to grow, because it forms a long taproot that does not transplant well. So after you've transplanted your tomatoes and set your strawberry runners, drop a few seeds in holes ¼ to ½ inch deep and spaced about a foot apart in full sun. Cover with ½-inch of soil, and within 2 weeks you will see green shoots.

Borage flowers in early to midsummer, and the blue blooms make lovely garnishes for salads and cakes. The young leaves have a cucumber flavor, and are quite edible as well, though they can become tougher with maturity. Try them in tea and in potpourri.

But aside from its culinary use, Borage is simply your fruit and vegetables' best friend. It is a bee magnet, and seems to repel several types of predatory pests while simultaneously welcoming "good bugs" into the garden. Strawberries are its boon companion, and it has been shown to increase the yields of this fruit. Tomatoes also benefit. There is simply no place in the sunny garden that borage shouldn't go.

This herb self-sows, so if you want to avoid unwanted seedlings in the spring, choose which plants you allow to go to seed. (Simply snip the bloomheads off the others and remove them from the garden, using the flowers as garnish or flavoring.) Let the others remain through fall, and nature will do the rest.

Borage reaches about 2 feet high, with 1½-inch star-shaped blooms of brilliant azure. We didn't even mention the reason many gardeners grow it: its beautiful ornamental appeal. An all-around must-have for any sunny garden spot.

My Female GSD loves
Size: Medium (2.5"), Style: Fetch Pack 1, Size: Medium (2.5"), Style: Fetch Pack 1
Shasta is my smallest. Six in December (2025) along with her brother. She’s 100 lbs and outside, completely ball driven see last picture. Don’t let the size (2.5”) of these Chuck-It balls deter you. If your larger Breed dog has any orthopedic issues, has already torn their ACL etc, one has arthritis but wants to play. This size is perfect! Shazzy was born with several ortho issues. I don’t throw balls distance but right to her. This size and lighter weight assure even when Shazzy is spazzy w excitement, she’ll catch the ball mid air. The green balls are softer, and glow in the dark. In summer we can play well past dusk and I can see them! Her personality shows in the pictures. Playing ball is part of her. These balls are just perfect for her situation. Somehow they disappear, she loves making baskets, puts them in my tractor bucket, or my gardening bucket..then get put in burn pile, trash etc. I keep replacing them because she’d look day and night if we actually ran out!! 🙏✝️👍🏼👍🏼

If you were looking for a sign to buy this, here it is
Color: A) Small 2.5" Ball
If you are looking for a ball that can stand up next to a heavy, aggressive chewer.. this is a good choice. Our Pitbull literally destroyed any and every toy that she gets with the exception of one kind of kong ball. She tore through the kong Frisbees, any kind of squeaker toy, and the wobble wag giggle ball (she usually always ends up destroying these but it takes a few weeks. Today she beat her record and had her brand new ball destroyed within the first 30 minutes of us taking it out of the box). But, this ball she has not been able to destroy. I'd like to believe that the Kong ball she has and this ball are made of the same material. Because they are the only balls she can't ruin. And it's not because of a lack of trying. We have watched her sit there and chew with a side of her mouth for an hour or more, trying to make some kind of indention or tear in it and it just never happened. She loves to chew this thing, chase this thing, sleep with this thing. I most certainly recommend this ball. If it is I'ah proof then it is most certainly, 100% a durable ball and worth every penny

Chew King Supreme Chew Toy
Color: B) Medium 3" Ball
So far, freaking amazing. This ball is awesome. I have a 90 lb American Bulldog. Like other reviews. Lot of " indestructible balls" lasted minimum time. Not this one. She even took it to bed with her I bought the 3 inch ball, not the 4 inch ball. The 3 inch ball works amazingly for a large Dog. Yes the 4 inch would be better. So in my opinion, either ball would be fine. As others also said. This ball keeps a active Dog busy for hours. Love to play catch. Love frozen peanut butter in it. One last thing. The price is amazing. I don't see needing to buy another, unless it is lost, because this is made to last. We couldn't be happier.

Malinois proof
Color: B) Medium 3" Ball
So far this has held up great. My Malinois who has destroyed nearly every ball I’ve gotten her, this one has lasted over 3 weeks without a dent, compared to some that don’t even last a day lol. Although the medium size is a little too big for her liking she still plays with it. It’s very durable and I like the middle part for engagement as well. I would recommend if you have a dog who destroys every ball possible.

Actually Durable
Color: B) Medium 3" Ball
One of the few "heavy duty" toys that my pittie hasn't destroyed after a couple of weeks. Most of them last two days. She's an absolute beast so I'm confident if she can't destroy it, few dogs can.
