Agapanthus praecox, commonly known as the African lily or Lily of the Nile, is a flowering plant species in the Lily family. Here's a description:

Appearance: Agapanthus praecox is a perennial herbaceous plant that forms clumps of long, strap-like leaves. The leaves are typically dark green and can grow up to 60 cm in length. From the center of the foliage arise tall, sturdy stalks, known as scapes, which bear clusters of trumpet-shaped flowers.

Flowers: The flowers of Agapanthus praecox are typically blue or white, though cultivars with shades of purple and pink are also available. Each flower cluster, known as an umbel, can contain dozens of individual flowers. The flowers have six tepals (petals and sepals that are similar in appearance) fused into a funnel shape, with prominent stamens protruding from the center.

Habitat: Native to southern Africa, particularly South Africa and Lesotho, Agapanthus praecox is often found growing in moist, grassy areas, along stream banks, and in other damp habitats. It prefers well-drained soil and full sun to partial shade.

Cultivation: African lilies are popular ornamental plants in gardens and landscapes around the world. They are valued for their striking flowers, attractive foliage, and low maintenance requirements. Agapanthus praecox can be grown in containers or planted directly in the ground, and they are suitable for both formal and informal garden settings.

Propagation: Agapanthus praecox can be propagated from seeds, division of established clumps, or by separating offsets (smaller plants that develop around the base of mature plants). Division is typically the easiest and most reliable method of propagation, and it's best done in spring or autumn.

Uses: In addition to their use as ornamental plants in gardens and landscapes, African lilies can also be used as cut flowers in floral arrangements. The flowers are long-lasting and can add a touch of elegance to bouquets and displays.

Growing Instructions

1. Fill a pot with a mixture of potting soil and sand.

2. Sow the seeds on the soil. Cover then with a very thin layer of soil.

3. Put the pot in a warm area.

4. Water the seeds and keep the soil moist. The soil must stay moist in order for the seeds to sprout. The pots can be covered with clear plastic wrap to keep the soil moist.

5. The seeds will sprout in 3-5 weeks.

6. The seedlings can be transplanted when the leaves are a couple of inches tall.

Bought a "Used like new" watch. Doesn't keep time
Color: Black/Black/Black/Fast-Wrap
I've had this for a few weeks. Since then, it's lost about 30 seconds. I'm not sure if it's this specific unit that has the issue or the mechanism itself. It's a shame because it's a killer looking watch.

Light, retro watch
Color: Brown/Brown/Natural
This is a light, comfortable and retro-stylish watch. A mixture of plastic, canvas, and faux-leather makes a good match for a college professor's tweed jacket with leather shoulders and elbow patches. It looks and feels cheap but it's actually a pretty good watch. Mine has a high contrast face making it easy to read. The hands have lume on them but it only glows for a few minutes. There is an indiglo feature when you press the winder so that's great. The day window is tiny and almost unreadable even with reading classes but other than that it is very functional. You can adjust the time and day independently (so you don't have to wind through 100+ hours to get the right day displayed). The winder setting to select between time and day adjust is very finicky. Fortunately you only need to adjust the day 5 times a year. The weakest part is the build quality. I'm not expecting Rolex, but the case corrodes really badly and the strap is short and the stitching failed so it fell off my wrist in about 6 months. I replaced the strap with a better one but the case corroded so badly I tossed it within a year. Other than looking cheap, poor build quality, and being thicker than I would like, I think this is a good watch.
