Anthurium jenmanii ‘Green Jade’

Deep green leaves and a dense bird’s-nest habit shape Anthurium jenmanii ‘Green Jade’. The foliage is dark, evenly green and defined more by leaf substance than by pale venation.

In a pot, the plant grows from a compact central crown and gradually builds a broad, symmetrical rosette. Mature leaves form a continuous green surface, with texture and leaf substance more prominent than vein contrast.

Deep green foliage and rosette form

  • Rich green leaves: Mature foliage has a deep emerald tone rather than pale veins or variegation.
  • Firm leaf substance: The leaves harden with a thicker feel than many velvet Anthuriums.
  • Subtle surface texture: Mature blades can show gentle rippling or a heavier surface.
  • Bird’s-nest growth: Leaves emerge from a central crown and build a rounded rosette.
  • Compact base: The plant stays centred in the pot and needs open substrate around the crown.

Indoor growth of Anthurium jenmanii ‘Green Jade’

The plant’s structure is crown-led. New leaves push from the middle, then spread outward as they harden. Turning the pot occasionally can keep the rosette even if light comes from one side, especially on a shelf or windowsill.

The leaves harden with a firm surface, while the roots still need the same aerated setup as other Anthuriums. A dense, wet mix around the base can damage the crown even when the leaves still look firm.

Care for deep green rosette growth

  • Light: Bright filtered light keeps the rosette even and reduces stretched petioles.
  • Water: Water through the substrate and let excess drain away. Allow the upper layer to dry slightly before repeating.
  • Substrate: Use an open aroid mix with coarse bark, coco chips, perlite or pumice.
  • Humidity: Average to moderately high humidity is enough for steady growth when the root zone is warm and stable.
  • Temperature: Keep it above 18 °C. Warm indoor temperatures around 20–27 °C suit active growth.
  • Leaf care: Wipe dust from mature leaves with a soft damp cloth so the deep green surface stays clean.

Stress signs on Anthurium jenmanii ‘Green Jade’

  • Soft crown or unstable base: Check for wet, compact substrate around the central growth point.
  • Brown leaf tips: Often follow drying at the root edge, mineral build-up or very dry indoor air.
  • Misshapen new leaves: Look at the youngest growth for pest marks or damage during unfolding.
  • Mealybugs or scale: Inspect petiole bases and the crown, where pests can hide between firm leaves.

Toxicity note

This Anthurium contains calcium oxalate crystals and is not safe for pets to chew. Contact with sap from cut or damaged tissue can also irritate skin or eyes, so handle pruning and cleaning with care.

Durable chew toy.
Color: Blue
My dog loves these. She chews on them a lot. She seems to like the different shapes. She is part Pit and an aggressive chewer. These chew toys last a long time. And I love the three pack so if we lose one, we always have a spare.

Decent durability for the price
Color: Blue
Bought a bunch of these for a dog shelter and have to say - decent for the price of you have aggressive chewers. All of the toys are still going 6+ months later, even with the strongest jawed pitty mix. Does get torn up at the ends but can easily be sanded down for a longer lasting toy, unlike some other hard toys with material not meant for sanding. The antler and ring seem to be favorites. The antler even has a divot so you can put soft treats in it or peanut butter and freeze it for a more interactive experience. Some came with a strong beef/liver smell but not overwhelming or off-putting. They are hefty without being too heavy, less likely to damage floors. Overall a good purchase

For aggressive chewers
Color: Blue
My pup is an aggressive chewer and these keep him occupied. He keeps coming back for them. Go to replaced old chew toys. Only issue is he leaves his toys everywhere and if you step on them. They are quite sharp
