Cotyledon tomentosa ‘Variegata’, better known as the Variegated Bear’s Paw Succulent, is a charming and eye-catching succulent loved for its fuzzy, paw-shaped leaves and beautiful cream to pale yellow variegation. The green leaves have lighter markings and tipped with tiny red claws giving the appearance of miniature bear paws.

This unique variegated form adds even more character to an already popular succulent, making it a favorite to collectors and beginners. Native to South Africa, Bear’s Paw is a slow grower and, when it's mature and happy it grows clusters of orange-red, bell-shaped flowers.

Its compact size makes it perfect for sunny windowsills, succulent arrangements, or as a standout addition to any collection.

Care Tips:

Light: Prefers bright light with several hours of direct or filtered sun. Variegated varieties may benefit from protection during intense afternoon heat.

Water: Water thoroughly, then allow the soil to dry completely before watering again. Bear’s Paw is sensitive to overwatering, so it’s best to err on the dry side.

Soil: Use a fast-draining cactus or succulent mix.

Temperature: Thrives in warm conditions and should be protected from frost.

Growth Note: Variegation can vary from plant to plant. Some leaves may display more cream or pale yellow coloring than others, making each plant uniquely beautiful.

With its fuzzy texture, adorable paw-like leaves, and creamy variegated coloring, the Variegated Bear’s Paw brings personality, texture, and charm to any succulent collection.

Probably Great for Any Normal Creature
Ok to be fair my lab/pit destroys anything he touches, and this kept him occupied for a solid week before he tore it to shreds. He absolutely adored it, chewed it, played keep away and tug of war with it, but like all toys he loved it too hard. Still yet to find something he doesn't decimate and honestly it may not exist, but this certainly withstood more than many a chew toy can claim. If you don't have a wood chipper for a pet, I'd highly recommend.

Tough enough for Pitt mix
Color: Red, Pattern Name: Roses
Buy it! Boy or girl who cares it’s a rose! Haven’t found a tough chew toy for a while. My Pitt mix has been going at it for three days with a tiny chunk off and that’s all. She pants while chewing then passes out!

Non aggressive chewer destroyed in 10 mins
Color: Light Pink, Pattern Name: Roses
Unfortunately this is definitely not for aggressive chewers. We had to throw it away after 10 mins and it was given to a small dog. She did absolutely love it, but it shouldn't have shredder the toy like she did. The spikes were literally falling off. I don't know if we just got a defective one, but I'm definitely not happy with this purchase.

Depends on the KIND of chew
Color: Red, Pattern Name: Roses
I’ve given this to my fosters and most love it and keep it for a LONG time. Now I have a Pibble who figured out how to pibble tiny bits of plastic instead of just chomping.

A little smaller then expected but over all a good quality and cute little chew toy for a growing pup to play with
