Fort Light is prized by growers, offering all the nourishment of a compost-based potting mix with the added benefit of perlite for enhanced drainage. Crafted from mature high quality compost to provide balanced nutrition from germination to transplant, it provides the ideal conditions to grow even the trickiest seeds.
Especially well suited to small-celled flats, soil blocking, and any grower seeking a lighter-weight medium. It is particularly helpful in smaller trays/pots or other situations where overwatering is a concern.
Uses: Seed germination, transplanting vegetable and flower starts, houseplants requiring additional drainage, hanging baskets
Preparation: Moisten with warm water a few hours before planting or soil blocking. Pre-wetting allows the soil to stabilize and helps prevent washout from pots or trays.
