Philodendron Bipennifolium Variegata – Variegated Horse Head Philodendron (Exact Plant)
Philodendron Bipennifolium Variegata is a true collector plant, valued not only for its distinctive “horse head” leaf shape but also for its highly sought-after variegation. Variegated Bipennifolium are notoriously difficult to propagate, as stem cuttings frequently revert. This limited availability is why established specimens remain uncommon on the market.
Variegation and Stability
- Collector-Grade Variegation: Each plant displays unique yellow and green patterning. Mottled variegation across multiple leaves (as shown in the sale plants) generally indicates stronger stability compared to single-sector or block variegation.
- Distinct Leaf Structure: The elongated, deeply lobed foliage gives Bipennifolium its recognisable “horse head” silhouette, making it visually distinct from other variegated Philodendrons.
Exact Plant Listing
You will receive the exact plant shown in the photographs. Variegation is already established and expressed across multiple leaves.
Care
- Light: Bright, indirect light to maintain colour balance and encourage continued variegation.
- Watering: Allow the top layer of soil to dry slightly between waterings.
- Humidity: Performs best in moderate to high humidity, though established plants can adapt to stable indoor conditions.
This listing is suited to experienced growers who understand the balance required to maintain variegation in high-value Philodendrons.
