  • Certified ASTM D6400 North America Compostable

The cling wrap is a bio-polymer that, unlike traditional plastic, breaks down fully at the end of life into organic matter, water and CO₂. This means no microplastics. The film is made primarily from PLA (Polylactic Acid) - a biodegradable, compostable material made from sugar cane waste. To give the film its stretch, this is blended with a small amount of PBAT—a certified compostable material that safely breaks down into natural elements, with no microplastics left behind 🌱

Box - 100% sustainably sourced, recyclable card.
Detachable blade - aluminum and recyclable plastic.*

* We are working towards a blade made with aluminum and plant based compostable bio polymers.

🌍 Impact:

Purchasing our ZERO plastic wrap, we estimate you're reducing the 1.16 Billion square meters of wrap going to landfill each year in Australia Alone.

The average cling wrap is made from plastic and most Australian households use cling wrap. The 2021 Census shows there are over 10.8 million private dwellings in Australia. Assuming the average household uses 6 rolls a year. And, the average roll of cling wrap sold in Australia is 60 meters and 30 cm’s wide.

So…

Even If only 80% of all households use plastic cling wrap….the amount of plastic going to landfill from cling wrap alone is likely to be…

Number of rolls: 6 x 10.8 Million = 64.8 Million Square meters of wrap: 64.8 Million x (60 mtrs x 30cm) = 1,166,400,000 square meters.

Thats huge! Well done you.

🙋 How to USE

Use ZERO cling wrap just like regular cling wrap, only no plastic waste or microplastic.

  1. Open box at clearly marked perforation.

  2. Remove the cutting blade from inside the box.

  3. Peel off tape and stick your easy cut blade to the outer carton.

  4. Pull off your desired length of the transparent food wrap.

  5. Use the easy cut blade to get the perfect cut (trust us, it's simple to use and safe for little fingers).

  6. Use the 100% plastic free film as you would any cling wrap, but without any of the plastic.

  7. Throw in with your compost - that's ZERO plastic going to landfill.

🌱 Detachable Blade

Why a plastic detachable blade?

When innovating the film's material, we needed the formula to be strong and clingy, unlike many other plant based wraps out there.

Plant based materials respond slightly differently than plastic. When we tested our film with a standard aluminum blade that you are likely familiar with, our new film didn't tear easily at all, but it performed brilliantly in every other way.

So, we explored different form factors for the blade. The one we landed on works brilliantly, but it is plastic. Not ideal.

We are now working on a new iteration of the blade that will be made from plant based materials that will be industrially compostable.

We didn't make this decision lightly, but we decided in the end that because even with this small plastic blade, the impact of our 100% plastic free film will have a net benefit to the environment if it means you're not using plastic wrap.

This book was fascinating. I had never heard about this invasion before and it was interesting to learn about this part of African history. As always, these books by Captivating History are enlightening and enjoyable.

...awkward book to rate...
Format: Kindle
This is an awkward book to rate as: the facts all seem to be there, hut the presentation is a touch below par for a 'Captivating History' book. There is a light garnish of literary and grammatical errors, a dose of waffle here and there, the chronology can jump back and forth and - I may have been distracted, but: I do not recall reading about what ultimately happened to Haile Selassie Most of the final, extended, chapter just repeats what has previously been covered. STILL - it's a most interesting period in history.

A not often studied part of African history
Format: Kindle
This book presents the history of Ethiopia up to the Italian invasion as a backdrop giving the culture and the nature of the Ethiopian Empire. Ethiopia has a history of more than 3,000 years and converted to Christianity about the same time that the Roman Empire did. During the medieval period remained strong in Christianity and traded with the East as well as with medieval Europe. It was one of the most advanced countries in the world at that time. When Italy started trying to build up an empire and catch up because of its lag behind the rest of Europe in Empire building, Ethiopia was one of the last parts of Africa that was not yet a colony of a European power. Italy and made a failed attempt at conquering Ethiopia but when Mussolini took power in Italy he decided to rebuild the grandeur of Roman Empire. This book takes you through the war with Italy and tells it from the Ethiopian side as well as presenting some of the concepts of the Italian side as well. Hey you will also become acquainted with the major players on both sides of the Italian Ethiopian war. It is well researched and it describes the war, the struggle that both the Ethiopians and the Italians had during the war and the final conclusion and how the war ended. The book has been well researched and is very interesting. I found this to be an excellent book to explain the war in North Africa as well as the struggle for independence of the Ethiopians. This is a book that I would like to have had when I was teaching world history. I highly recommend this book and feel that it is a great addition to anyone's library.
