Mangave 'Praying Hands' is a succulent with a very unusual habit, forming a narrow, upright rosette whose thick leaves fold inwards, resembling hands clasped in prayer. Its dark green leaves, often edged with purplish or brownish hues, offer a graphic and sculptural appearance. A true botanical curiosity, it immediately catches the eye in a collection of houseplants.

Origin : Horticultural hybrid resulting from the cross between Agave and Manfreda, genera native to North and Central America.

Growth : Slow to moderate growth, forming a compact rosette with an upright habit, suitable for pot cultivation.

Flowers : Can produce an upright flower stalk bearing tubular flowers ranging from purple to yellowish. As with agaves, the main rosette dies after flowering, but it can produce offshoots.

Light : Requires very strong light with direct sunlight or a powerful horticultural lamp, in order to maintain its compact shape and intense colors.

Watering : Water only when the substrate is completely dry. Space out waterings further when the plant enters dormancy to avoid overwatering.

Substrate : Use a succulent or cactus potting mix that drains perfectly to protect the roots from rot.
