Native Organic Seeds Wild Harvested on the " Tame the Spirit " Farm in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. No smog, no pollution and rich, nutrient filled soil provide the perfect environment for harvesting all natural, non GMO, wild seeds and herbs.

The perennial Jack in the Pulpit plant will grow 1-3 ft with an intriguing blossom. It is a large, cylindrical, hooded flower, green in color with brown stripes. In late summer, a cluster of bright red berries appears. A unique addition to your outdoor garden, landscape or woods.

Growing your garden landscape flowering plants from seed not only saves a ton of money, it is the most rewarding as well! Gardeners should understand that most plants have built in dormancy mechanisms that will prevent the seed from germinating until the time is right ( nature's time). This amazing feature prevents a population of plants from germinating all at once, before killing frosts, or in times of drought. To germinate native plants, a gardener needs to break this dormancy period before the seeds will sprout.

Nature sometimes increases the odds of a seed germinating at just the right time by requiring multiple conditions be met. Jack in the pulpit seeds need a 60-90 day period of cold stratification, Place the seeds in a plastic bag with damp peat moss in the refrigerator for 60 days), followed by a 60-90 day period in 75-80 degree temperatures. Finally, the seeds will once again need three months of cold temperatures in the refrigerator to allow the rest of the seed to germinate.

Both the above ground parts and roots were used by Native Americans as an herb. Various herbal remedies were used as holistic medicine, although the plant is toxic, with proper drying and use the medicinal plant can have quite a few medicinal qualities.
