Welcome to Monster World, brought to you by Warren Publishing Co., spearheaded by the talented James Warren as the publisher and Forrest J Ackerman as the editor. Operating from November 1964 to September 1966, Monster World was the short-lived sister magazine to Famous Monsters of Filmland.

While sharing many similarities with its renowned counterpart, Monster World offered its unique charm with captivating content. It unveiled its pages a year before Creepy and Eerie, and several movie adaptation strips were included in the pages of MW. The magazine featured a collection of thrilling movie adaptation strips, immersing readers in the world of beloved monsters.

Monster World's artistic prowess knew no bounds, as it showcased the incredible works of renowned artists such as Vic Prezio, Ron Cobb, and Gray Morrow, all of whom lent their talents to Monster World, as well as Famous Monsters of Filmland. The magazine also provided a platform for Warren to publish his earliest comics stories, making it an essential part of monster history.

However, despite its undeniable charm, Monster World experienced a shorter run than its sibling, and it was phased out after ten issues. Warren Publishing decided to consolidate the publication process by incorporating Monster World issues 1-10 as the missing pieces, and they skipped over Famous Monsters numbers 70-79 in the process.

We invite you to delve into the captivating world of Monster World, starting from its remarkable first issue adorned with an enchanting cover art by Russ Jones, followed by equally enthralling cover artworks by Vic Prezio, Ron Cobb, Gray Morrow, and captivating cover photos of The Addams Family and The Reptile in issues 9 and 10.

Experience the thrills, chills, and nostalgia of classic monster entertainment with Monster World - a treasure trove for enthusiasts and collectors alike. Embrace the magic of the monsters that have captivated generations and join us on a journey into the world of the extraordinary!

Great message that the kids listen to
Format: Hardcover
I love the message and my kids (3 and 5) find it credible and engaging, so it's a win all around. I find the illustrations (which are either done by a 5 year old or an adult as talented an artist as I am) painful but I give the text 6 out of 5 stars so when I take a star off for the over-the-top illustrations we're still at 5/5 ;) Kids who have greater access to exclusively modern media with intense graphics may not be able to relate to the material: the graphics are a big hurdle and the text is pretty dated too. I'm sure an updated version would be even more engaging for my kids but what it lacks in exciting, current graphics it makes up for in specificity and clarity for my two.

Entertaining and helpful lessons
Format: Hardcover
My family loves this book. Used to read it to my daughter as a young girl and now she’s a teen. We still talk about the lessons learned in this book! The characters and illustrations crack me up: Smash, rip and ruin taught us a lot! And the ones without hands and noses! I couldn’t believe how long ago this book was written when we got it- all lessons still applicable today.

Fun Way to Teach Manners
Format: Hardcover
This book was one I read to my daughters when they were young and I am now reading it to my grandsons. I plan to read it to my fourth grade class, as well.

... over with my 3yo and 5yo boys but they loved it!
Format: Hardcover
I wasn't sure how this would go over with my 3yo and 5yo boys but they loved it!! They always enjoy pulling it out and now I can refer back to the characters to remind them of their manners in a more positive way. The only thing is I kinda wish they had used a different animal than pig, since for some reason I don't like saying "don't be like the pigs" (since I don't really want them calling eachother or other kids pigs). But so far it has been fine :) It's also very nice they included "Be kind to animals, they have feelings too." We say that all the time around here since we have kitties. Also the part about table manners is great since we had already been teaching the kids to ask before being excused from the table.

Manners Can Be Fun
Format: Hardcover
What a cute book! I bought it for my 2 and 3 year old boys. We are attempting to teach them simple, common manners in a fun way and they love learning through books. Manners Can Be Fun presents manners in a simple, easy to understand, engaging way. The boys enjoy reading this book and it's a great way to have positive conversations about specific situations they experience daily like sharing toys, picking up after themselves, whining, meal time. It's a fun book!
