Anthurium veitchii, often called the King Anthurium, is a spectacular foliage plant prized for its long, deeply corrugated pendant leaves that can reach impressive lengths as it matures. Each leaf develops dramatic ribbing and a glossy, quilted texture that creates strong architectural impact. Native to Colombia and naturally epiphytic, it thrives with airflow around its roots and rewards growers with increasingly elongated foliage as it establishes. A true statement plant for collectors, it brings sculptural form and lush tropical presence to bright indoor spaces.Position & Light
Prefers bright indirect light. Avoid direct harsh sun which can burn foliage. In New Zealand homes, position near an east facing window or in a bright north facing room set back from direct light. Strong filtered light encourages larger, longer leaves.Watering
Keep lightly and consistently moist but never saturated. Allow the top portion of the mix to dry slightly between waterings. Reduce frequency in cooler months when growth slows. Excellent drainage is essential.Humidity
Thrives in moderate to high humidity. While it can adapt to average indoor levels, higher humidity encourages larger leaves and reduces browning at the tips. Ideal for bathrooms or grouped with other plants.Soil
Requires a very free draining, chunky mix. Use an aroid or epiphytic blend containing bark, perlite and quality indoor media. Airflow around roots is critical for healthy growth.Feeding
Feed monthly through spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertiliser at half strength. Reduce or pause feeding in winter.Growth Habit
A pendant epiphytic grower forming a central rosette with leaves that lengthen dramatically over time. Mature specimens develop increasingly pronounced corrugation and leaf length.Difficulty
Moderate to advanced. Best suited to growers comfortable managing humidity, drainage and consistent moisture.Pet Safety
Toxic if ingested. Contains calcium oxalate crystals that may cause irritation to pets and humans.Shipping Notes

Fun educational book
Format: Hardcover, Format: Hardcover
This book is a big hit! My 5 year old son and I read it so many times since we ordered this in April. It has cute illustration and 60 flaps and pop-ups which make the book even more exciting. And because of this, I don’t recommend this book to young kids under 3 though. Some flaps might be tricky for younger kids. Even I as a parent learned so much about construction.

Great book, but the other book of the same author is much better
Format: Hardcover
This is a very high quality book, chock a block full of information about construction sites, with lots of imaginative flaps, things that swivel, move, and fold. HOWEVER...it is not as good as "The Ultimate Book of Vehicles" by the same author. The "Vehicles" book is more appropriate for kids 3 years and up: It is still full of awesome flaps, swivels, and things that move, but it is simpler, with pictures of the vehicle, the name of the vehicle, and maybe a few names of the parts of the vehicle. You open up a flap to see inside, make it move, etc. My son found it very interesting.
The "Construction" is really aimed for older kids, I'm guessing 5 and up, maybe even older. There are just so many words on the page, and so much information. The flaps are not as interesting as the previous book, and I found many of the moving parts to be "sticky", and my 3 year old ripped quite a few out within a week of reading the book. We have not ripped anything from the "Vehicle" book.
So I would say if you have an older kid who wants to gain a lot of knowledge about construction sites, this book is for you. But if you have a younger child (3 and up, any younger and they'd destroy the book), get the "Vehicle" book.

So Much Fun And Very Informative
Format: Hardcover, Format: Hardcover
This book has been a winner in our house since it arrived. Each page has so many flaps, spins, pulls and movement. So many new words and easy explanations for the kids. The pictures are beautifully designed and each time we look through it we find more details we missed!
The book is an excellent purchase and definitely worth every penny!

Best Construction Kids book
Format: Hardcover
My nephew can look at this book for hours. It is such a cool book even for adults. It is a more delicate child’s book as their are lots of demonstrations and paper pieces that move. The house across the street is being torn down and rebuilt and he will sit and point to the book and say this is what they are doing today. I think this book is one of my nephews most prized possessions. It’s a great book that can grown with them for a few years. He is only 3 but this could easily engage a 5 or 6 year old. There is lots of details and the book is really well designed.
