Easy to grow, you can plant the bulbs in compost-enriched soil that is kept evenly moist, once the danger of frost is past and the soil has warmed to about 65°F. Fertilize regularly and keep soil moisture constant or plant them around a water feature or other wet area. The huge leaves steal the show wherever they grow. Elephant Ears are not frost tolerant so if you live in a colder zone, dig the tubers once the leaves have died back and store in a cool area until the next spring. Great as container plants too – you can plant as annuals, or protect your containers from frost over the winter, and Elephant Ears will reappear even bigger the following year. Perfect Gift for Coffee-Loving (or Hot Cocoa) People
If you're looking for a solid gift for your significant other and don't quite know the difference between a milk frother and a milk steamer yet (like me three days before), this is the one to get because it does both! My girlfriend is a wonderful barista and had been wanting a milk steamer for a while. A lot of options out there are incredibly expensive and difficult to wash, but this one was a fantastic price for such a great appliance. Here are some of the specs: For power, blending power is amazing, but just note that it froths a lot, like a lot. You'll get about a 3:1 froth-to-milk ratio at the max setting, and a 1:1 ratio at even at the lowest setting. For temperature, steamer gets the milk perfectly warm and hot for whatever you feel like, whether lattes or hot chocolate. For cleaning, some reviewers also mentioned having trouble cleaning the small hole at the bottom of the frothing whisk. But other than that, the frothing whisk is actually magnetic. You can just pop it off and attach it to the side of the cup while washing, which is super convenient. Overall, if you are missing a milk steamer in your kitchen setup to heat up milk properly or need a gift for a coffee enthusiastic friend or significant other, this is definitely worth the money!
