Euphorbia bougheyi
Common Name: Ribbon Cactus

Euphorbia bougheyi, commonly known as the Ribbon Cactus, is a uniquely sculptural succulent native to East Africa. Despite its nickname, this plant is not a true cactus—it belongs to the Euphorbia family—but its dramatic, winged stems give it a cactus-like silhouette with an architectural twist. The stems are flattened and deeply ridged, resembling broad ribbons with slightly toothed edges, and range from green to bluish-green depending on light exposure.

With time, it can grow into a shrubby, multi-branched form that makes a stunning focal point indoors or in warm outdoor landscapes. Like most euphorbias, it produces small, inconspicuous flowers and exudes a milky sap when cut—so handle with care and keep away from pets and children.

☀ Light Requirements
Prefers bright, indirect light or partial sun. Outdoors, filtered light or morning sun is ideal. Indoors, place near a bright window or under grow lights.

💧 Watering Needs
Water deeply only when the soil is completely dry. Euphorbia bougheyi is drought-tolerant and does not like soggy soil. Reduce watering during winter dormancy.

🌡 Temperature Tolerance
Not frost-hardy. Protect from temperatures below 40°F. Bring indoors or cover during cold snaps. For winter shipping, add a [Heat Pack].

✨ Special Features
Winged “Ribbon” Stems – Distinct ridged form creates dramatic structure
Low-Maintenance – Easy to care for with minimal watering
Modern Look – A sculptural accent perfect for minimalist or arid design themes

Other Common Names:
Ribbon Euphorbia, Ribbon Cactus (not a true cactus)

This cactus will ship bare root and will be ready to place directly in a well draining soil mix like our Custom Cactus Mix.

Kept a 10 year old engaged
Format: Paperback
I bought this for my 10 year old for our trip to Paris. It contained some activities that kept him interested during our museum/castle trips. It even lead us to Chateau de Vincennes which we wouldn’t have found on our own! The Louvre hunt had us going all over the place (mainly because he can’t leave anything incomplete) but it helped initiate conversations about history. The only issue is that the Notre Dame challenge is sadly impossible to complete now based on the fire in April. I also wish something would be added regarding Les Invalides. If you have elementary aged kids then I would highly recommend.

Excellent addition to a trip
Format: Paperback
Just got back from Paris. My 9 year old daughter loved using this book throughout our adventures. It was light enough to carry with us each day and had a nice mix of information to read and things to look for. There were A LOT of different sites listed. In a week we still didn't get to some of them. Would definitely buy one of these books for another trip.

A must-have for Grade-schoolers going to Paris
Format: Paperback
This was an absolutely wonderful Secret Agent Spy book that kept our kids engaged throughout our time in Paris. I bought a copy for each of our three children. This book was perfect for my 8 and 9 year-old, my 6 year old was only moderately engaged. It could be her personality, it could be her age. But what this book did do was bring to life the main tourist attractions we were dragging them to. We spent 4 hours at the Louvre, and once we were done with that Mission, my older two were immediately wanting to move on to the missions that took place just outside the Louvre. The writing is appropriate without being condescending or too simple. Highly recommend this for any grade-schooler. May be ok for middle schoolers too. Thanks Catherine Aragon!

Really wonderful read
Format: Kindle
Really wonderful read. Heard a therapist say that the best relationship are those of which your partner is willing to work through childhood trauma. This book would be an accurate description. Highly recommend to readers.

What happens when feelings develop?
Format: Kindle
Well written as usual from this wonderful author! The feels! The frustration! The angst…ugh. The MCs were perfectly flawed and their development satisfyingly done. The spice was so nice and flowed well.
