About Echeveria Tolimanensis

Echeveria Tolimanensis is a stunning succulent cultivar native to the Hidalgo in Mexico for its gorgeous appearance and low maintenance, belonging to the Echeveria genus in the Crassulaceae family. Echeveria Tolimanensis resembles the little Sedeveria 'Harry Butterfield' with lanceolate blades and a compact rosette arrangement. The oval-shaped cylindrical lime-white to purple-white leaves with distinct grains growing up to 3.6 inches in length and 0.5 inches in diameter form the tight rosette, adding appeal to this cutie. These leaves bear a powdery coating known as farina, protecting this stunner from sunburn. The bell-shaped orangish-reddish blossoms appear on the raceme tidbits in early summer, enhancing the aesthetic value of this cutie.

How to care for Echeveria Tolimanensis

Sun/Location: E. Tolimanensis prefers abundant gentle light during spring and autumn to develop the purplish-white with farina status. Place E. Tolimanensis in a sunny location in south-facing or east-facing locations during spring, autumn, and winter, and provide shade during the summer. Sufficient sunshine with significant temperature differences would deepen the dark patterns on its leaves.

Soil/Pot: E. Tolimanensis typically thrives in a potting mix composed of peat moss and perlite at a 1:1 ratio. E. Tolimanensis parents adjust the amount of perlite based on the humidity level in their local area, using less in dry regions and slightly more in humid regions. As E. Tolimanensis grows remarkably slowly, add release fertilizer to the potting soil mix to provide necessary but not excessive nutrients. Adding too much fertilizer may cause overstimulation, leading to unhealthy growth or damage to this cutie. Pay careful attention to soil composition and nutrient management to ensure optimal growth and maintain the plant's natural beauty. Watering: Water sparingly in the growing seasons in spring and autumn to maintain the E. Tolimanensis growth. E. Tolimanensis is a slow grower, and if artificially stimulated the rapid growth, the intricate patterns on its leaves may become less pronounced due to the accelerated growth. Therefore, controlled watering is crucial for maintaining the plant's natural beauty and coloration. By providing just the right amount of moisture, the succulent's growth can be regulated, ensuring the gradual development of its stunning and distinctive markings. In addition, this approach can prevent the unsightly stretching of its leaves, which can occur when the succulent plants are over-watered or lack of light.

Humidity: E. Tolimanensis prefers relatively dry conditions and tolerates low to moderate humidity levels. The ideal humidity range is 30%-50%. Avoid overwatering or allowing the potting soil to become waterlogged, resulting in root rot and fungal or bacterial issues. Providing adequate airflow around E. Tolimanensis also helps prevent excess moisture buildup and maintain optimal growing conditions. Click here to learn how humidity effect succulents.
