Pisum sativum (65 days) Developed by Dr. James Baggett, of Oregon State University. This edible-pod snow pea is not only extra sweet, but an extremely heavy yielder. Pea pods are 4-5", thick and tasty. Vines 24"-34". Oregon Sugar Pod II Pea bears 10 days earlier than Mammoth Melting Sugar Pea. Resistant to both pea enation virus and powdery mildew.

How to Grow Oregon Sugar Pod II Peas from Seeds:

  1. Sowing Time:

    • Early Spring: As soon as the soil can be worked (usually 4-6 weeks before the last frost).
    • Fall: In late summer for a fall harvest, especially in areas with mild winters.
  2. Seed Spacing:

    • Plant the seeds about 1-2 inches apart.
    • Rows should be spaced about 18-24 inches apart.
  3. Planting Depth:

    • Sow the seeds 1 inch deep.
  4. Support:

    • Provide a trellis or support structure as these vines can grow 24-30 inches tall.

Watering:

  • Regular Watering: Keep the soil evenly moist but not waterlogged, especially during flowering and pod formation.
  • Avoid Overwatering: Water early in the day to allow foliage to dry, reducing the chance of disease.

Weather Conditions:

  • Optimal Temperature: Peas prefer cooler temperatures, ideally between 55°F and 75°F (13°C - 24°C).
  • Frost Tolerance: The plants are somewhat frost-tolerant, making them suitable for early spring planting.

USDA Zone:

  • Oregon Sugar Pod II grows best in USDA Hardiness Zones 3-9.

Soil Requirements:

  • Soil Type: Well-drained, loamy soil rich in organic matter.
  • Soil pH: Slightly acidic to neutral, with a pH of 6.0 to 7.5.
  • Soil Preparation: Amend the soil with compost before planting to improve nutrient levels and drainage.

Unbelievable toy for aggressive chewers
Color: Green Cactus
Great toy for aggressive chewers! I'm not one to hand out 5 star reviews but this one I 100% believe in. I bought the first one in 2023 and just replaced it because it broke. Now this is not a played with every once in a while, this was played with daily as it is his favorite toy. Very few toys last long but this one has went beyond my expectations. Could not be happier.

Not Recommended!
Color: Green Cactus
Be aware that with major chewers it is not durable. My dog tour right through it and was eating pieces off of it. Thankfully we got the pieces back out of his mouth but definitely not for tough chewers. Also only lasted 2 days in decent condition and was only used on the occasion throughout the day.

Not strong lasting
Color: Green Cactus
Didn’t even last 3 hours in my house. Too rubbery and our frenchie mix was able to bite pieces off and was trying to eat them. Don’t recommend as a super chewer or consider it durable

Very durable!
Color: Pink Cactus
One of the few actually tough chew toys for dogs who tear apart toys in seconds! My dog loves this thing and has yet to break into the rubber!

Great product! Durable, chewable, awesomeness!
Color: Grilled color, Color: Grilled color
Very well made and durable. My dog hasn't left them alone since i opened them. Hes been at it for about 45 minutes straight now! Lol. He's an avid chewer. He will chew thru and fabric or cloth toys in less then a day. But these are what he really likes because they take time to chew apart. The shapes, are great, because one he props up with his paws and chews and it seems like it's easy to grip for him. Thru are hard so if you have hard floors it can get a bit noisy when he drops them. Over all this is a great product. Safe, chewable, long lasting, fun shape looks real to him (i think lol), Me and my dog Lucky are both happy with his new toys!
