Grow your own tropical paradise with Strelitzia 'Bird of Paradise' seeds. The Strelitiza Reginae, Orange Bird of Paradise, produces sword-shaped leaves, orange flowers and stay relatively shrub-like. On the other hand, the Strelitzia Nicolai, or White Bird of Paradise, grows into a tall tree with wider leaves and white flowers. Not sure which one to grow? Try both!

Instructions:

To plant these seeds, pull the orange tufts out of the seed, you can optionally lightly cut the coat(scarify) the seeds to improve germination, and then pre-soak the seeds in warm-hot water for 1-2 days prior to planting.

Once the seeds have been soaked, plant them in a moist planting medium, cover with a humidity dome(make sure condensation forms on the humidity dome to know it's working correctly), keep consistently >70F, and keep brightly lit and away from direct sunlight.

We recommend using the following to sow the seeds:

Points to ponder

Attractive shelves and good illumination, but must be turned on and off manually and individually. Not spaced to secure to studs so gigantic anchors are provided but nothing to hide or secure the AAA battery power supply required for each shelf. No ability to dim and no remote on these units at this price point but I will find a place for these shelves which are attractive and good value if you aren’t as reluctant as me to put heavy things on them or as lazy as me.

Vision came to life!!

I am pleased with my purchase, I wanted a spot light but I like the strip. The picture was taken in the early evening, it gives a great ambiance. Lights start to dim as the batteries die, easy installation. I used tan tape to cover the power cord, the shelves are above eye level so you can’t see it.

Amazing concept

They are everything I wanted for the aesthetic I was going for. They are a fairly simple install and they come with pretty good instructions. However, I don't know if it was my rush to get them up or if it was a design flaw but they are not very sturdy in the wall. I had seen a few reviews that said that they were a bit loose and I wasn't expecting heavy objects on it but I did end up needing to put support bars underneath them just because they kept sinking downward. Had I known that would have been the case I would have installed them differently and avoided putting holes in my wall at all but they're up now and it is what it is.
