Carol Deppe, “This line of Sweet Meat represents my re-selection of the Oregon heirloom for all its traditional virtues-sweet, thick, dry flesh of unsurpassed flavor, fruits 12 - 25 lbs, huge delicious seeds, long storing, and ability to germinate in cold mud and grow vigorously in cool weather. These characteristics have largely been lost from the current commercial lines. Cure indoors at least one month. Oregonians traditionally open their first Sweet Meat for Thanksgiving. Gets sweeter and more delicious in storage. Stores at least 6 months. Freezes well. Cooked squash makes good fruit leather. Immature squash left at the end of the growing season make good summer squash and drying squash.”

”Sweet Meat–Oregon Homestead is grown on an isolated farm as the only variety of their species on the farm. With both, I generally have plant populations of at least 80. More usually a hundred or more. Only the top 20% or so of the fruits are kept for seed. We eat or sell the rest. I actively, personally select each fruit for critical characteristics such as flesh thickness, seed size, and flavor each generation. The squash seed fruits are all heavily after-ripened before processing, so the seed germinates very vigorously in the field, but not under sterile conditions.”

Replaced Vaseline - Far superior product
I received this as a gift a few months ago and it's all I use now. I use it on my lips and on my neck wrinkles. Do not leave it in a warm environment, like hot car or pants pockets, it will get very soft. If it does get soft, i just dab it on ranther than rolling/wiping on. Also its best to roll it down when not in use, but not necessary. I used to be addicted to Vaseline products for my lips and this is far superior in many ways.

Not really good as a lip balm
It is way too melty or liquidy when applying. It's like putting oil on your lips. No staying power. I actually ended using it more as a skin moisturizer like a lotion. It's pretty good for that. I haven't even tried taking it with me in my pocket as I think it'll turn to a liquid like coconut oil down here in sunny hot Florida. .

What I needed!
Scent: Oatmeal & Honey
My skin it very sensitive and dry which makes finding a good soap difficult. I'm also not able to use exfoliating products as it is painful and/or damages my skin but a wash cloth isn't enough. This soap is great in that there are very few ingredients and they are all natural so no skin reactions. It is actually soothing. The whole oatmeal in it exfoliates but also softens so no pain or skin damage. Definitely plan to continue ordering this product.

A miracle for those with eczema.
Scent: Oatmeal & Honey
I recently bought the Goat's milk soap with oatmeal and honey. Let me just say that I LOVE this soap. For YEARS I have been trying all kinds of naturally derived soaps in search of a keeper, and I finally found it. A big thank you to The Soap Haven. I have been dealing with dishydrotic eczema on my hands and fingers for about five years now, and finding products that don't trigger outbreaks can be like playing with fire. I have found soaps that do just that, and I have find soaps that are mild enough not to do that, but I have never before used a soap that actually soothes my skin. This soap does that,it SOOTHES. Every time I use this soap, my eczema is almost healed and I am not exaggerating. I have had awful break outs, and after a few minutes of lathering with this soap, the itching goes away entirely, the redness subsides, swelling goes down and it has consistently been this way. Also, this soap leaves my skin feeling clean and comfortable - Not oily, not dry or tight, just really comfortable. Anyways, I am just so impressed and thankful, this soap is miraculous. Please don't discontinue or change this formula. You have a customer for life. Oh, and another plus, I live in Oregon, so I am proud to be giving my business to a business like this one. P.S. I read a lot of reviews that gave one star for the smell, or said it's not unscented, well it is fragrance free, the only thing that you can smell is the combination of honey, goatsmilk, and oats-and that is good! It is evidence that this is all natural soap with the ingredients it claims to have with no fragrance added for appeal. Now, in my opinion, this comes with the territory, if you want something that smells like a perfumery, then go with the synthetic stuff, but if you want all-natural, free of essential oils and parfum, then embrace the less popular smells of nature.
