  • Bird's Nest Fern Asplenium nidus is one of the most popular houseplants for homes and offices, because it is very easy to care for and can tolerate moderate indoor lighting conditions. It has wavy, slender leaves in bright green. These leaves grow freely from the center stalk, resembling a large bird's nest, hence the name!

Bird's Nest Fern can grow up to 2-4 feet, making it an excellent choice for hanging baskets and tall planters.

This plant is a perfect indoor plant as it has an air-purifying and detoxifying effect and requires little care.

  •  Bird's Nest Fern thrives in bright to moderate, indirect light and does not tolerate harsh direct sunlight or deep shade.

This plant needs moderate watering. Water only the soil and not directly into the leaves to avoid rotting. The soil should be moist but not waterlogged.

This plant prefers soils that can retain moisture but still drain well. You can mix your own soil with 2 parts peat and 1 part sand or perlite.

Bird's Nest Fern should be kept in temperatures between 60°F-80°F and a humidity level between 50-70%. Use a humidifier and mist your plant when the weather is dry, especially during winter.

This plant should be fertilized once per month during the growing season (spring/summer) with diluted houseplant fertilizer.

    Bird's Nest Fern is non-toxic.

Too simple
Format: Kindle
Some of the information is inaccurate or out of date such as the food pyramid. Much of should have been learned long before they are ready to leave home. But some of it such as the simple recipes and the cleaning solutions are useful. I wish the author had spent a little time to address teens with disabilities and other special circumstances. All in all a decent book but the author could have done so much more.

Clyburn captures the past to warn us about the present and future.
Format: Hardcover
I enjoy this book. The history of white Conservatives first taking the black vote away by domestic terrorism and violence and then changing the rules to make getting the vote back nearly impossible explains the 70 year gap between the first eight and the ninth (Clyburn). He mixes the past record of lying and dirty tricks of Conservatives with current events that attempt to bring about the same result. Thanks for all of your work in bringing this great history. It should admonish all of us to work to make sure we don't fall victim to the lying and dirty tricks of the Conservatives of the present.
