It produces thick, elongated, strap-like leaves with a heavy, leathery to almost plastic-like texture that grow in a bird's-nest formation from the center of the plant, with dark maroon undersides. The semi-succulent constitution makes it notably more drought-tolerant and forgiving than most philodendrons. A natural climber that benefits from a moss pole to reach full height.

• Light: Medium to bright indirect light with some gentle morning sun; avoid harsh direct sun which scorches the leaves. Tolerates lower light than many philodendrons.
