All Peg Perego rechargeable batteries are the sealed lead acid type and do not require maintenance.
Recharging is only via the original Peg Perego battery charger connected to a simple domestic socket. You can charge the batteries whilst they are in the toy or by extracting them. Some models have transport handles to make extraction and transport easier.
