What are the benefits of horsetail control?

Taking control of horsetail can be beneficial for many reasons. These include:

  • Increased safety for livestock: Livestock, such as horses and cattle, can be poisoned if they eat horsetail. Controlling horsetail helps to protect them from this risk
  • Reduces weed spread: Rapid growth makes horsetail a difficult weed to control, and preventing its spread is crucial to stop it from taking over
  • Improves plant health: Removing horsetail gives other plants the space and resources they need to thrive, creating a healthier, more vibrant garden or lawn. This is because horsetail can damage surrounding plants by competing for these essential resources

Kurtail Evo (previously known as Kurtail Gold or Kibosh)

  • The Kurtail family of products is the UK's No. 1 choice of weed killer for effective mare's tail/horsetail control and prevention
  • Kurtail products are EXCLUSIVE to ProGreen
  • Kurtail Evo controls an even larger range of weeds than Kurtail Gold

Effective for horsetail control and prevention

Horsetail's root system is extremely vigorous and can grow very deep which is why it can regenerate after treatment and cultural controls, such as digging or rotavating 'this will only spread and multiply the problem in the short term.

Kurtail Evo is based on two weed killer active ingredients glyphosate and 2,4-D that combine in a lipophilic action to maximise uptake. Both of these weed killers contribute to mare's tail control and this ensures that Kurtail Evo maintains its position as the best weed killer for mare's tail control.

Approved for use on:

  • Amenity vegetation
  • Hard surfaces (including railway ballast)
  • Orchards
  • Green cover on land not being used for crop production and stubble
  • Amenity grassland (destruction only)
  • Total grassland destruction where additional weeds are present
    (boom sprayer use only)

Do not use:

  • Under polythene or glass
  • Alongside hedges
  • Using a watering can
  • In or near water – not approved for aquatic use
  • Around plants and grass you want to protect from overspray or drift – Kurtail Evo is NOT a selective weed killer, for this we would recommend the selective Kurtail Lawn

For control of mare's tail when applying with a knapsack or handheld sprayer, we suggest Kurtail Lawn with KPlus or SBK Brushwood Killer with KPlus.

Key points

Horsetail is often called mare's tail, but this is more accurately an aquatic weed (Hippuris vulgaris). The correct Latin name for horsetail is Equisetum arvense or 'field horsetail'.

  • Effective for horsetail control and prevention
  • Can be used as an alternative to straight glyphosate products
  • No need to bruise or damage the plant
  • Apply to growing weeds that are green and 20cm+
  • Treated weeds will turn black and wither within 2 - 3 weeks
  • Rain fast in 3 hours
  • Re-seeding is possible from 5 - 60 days after application (see product label for crop timings)
  • Vegetables should be planted 60 days after application of Kurtail Evo
  • Best results when applied between 1st March and 30th September
  • Can be sprayed with a boom sprayer at the same rate as Kurtail Gold
  • After spraying, wash out with water and a proprietary cleaner such as All Clear Extra or Tank and Equipment Cleaner to avoid damage to susceptible plants

Hard water effect on horsetail control

The effectiveness of many weed killers can be reduced by some of the ingredients being 'locked up'‚ especially in hard water areas. We can help reduce this problem and maximise its effect on mare's tail by simply adding KPlus to the spray tank.

Safety

Recommended safety clothing / PPE as per the MSDS: protective clothing (coverall), protective gloves, eye/face protection and respiratory protection.

Rosaria is an intelligent human being.
Format: Hardcover
Rosaria writes as such. She walks through lies we are told by our culture here in America and beyond. How to look at sin rightly and touches on her own experiences throughout the book. She is raw and open. However, I do think some of her definitions are not really what we use for some of it. Got me a little confused. I used it to walk my bible study through these lies. There are a lot of questions, but you get out what you put in, so I think it was well worth the time and energy it took to read, reflect and respond to the text. It has biblical backing, and I was thankful for her honesty where she has made public statements before, and has since learned more and no longer thinks that way. It has to be hard, and has been hard. To live her experiences. Such a huge cost to following Jesus. May her ministry and book sales be blessed, as this book should be in church libraries around the world. To know how to gently and lovingly interact with those who are living differently than we.

Most Important book for Christians
The sincere convert accepts a complete Christ. He loves not only the reward, but the labor. He seeks not only the benefits, but the burden of Christ. He takes up the commands, yes even the cross of Christ. In contrast, the unsound and perhaps unsaved person takes Christ by halves. He is all for the salvation but not the sanctification. He is all for the privileges, but neglects the person of Christ..They desire salvation from suffering, but do not desire to be saved from sinning. Christianity is not about us being perfect but our faith in the One that is perfect. From Rosaria's perspective of being a feminist, liberal Professor, and living as a lesbian, she gave up everything for Christ. She believed the lies and found the truth that set her free. She has found meaning of the pain of what she gave up within the promises of God's word. She also understands how the lies will destroy families, communities and the only hope we have is the truth. I struggle with the difference of acceptance and approval. I believed that they were the same. They are not the same. I believed the lie and struggled because of it. Acceptance involves listening, caring for, and praying and sharing the truth of God's word. Acceptance helps you in the landmines of lies. You know the difference of the lies and the truth. Acceptance means living in the reality and not fantasy. Rosaria in great detail explains how we can love thru acceptance. Approval is not kindness and pulls us away from the reality and truth. The five lies are as follows: Homosexuality is normal Being a spiritual person is kinder than being biblical Christian Feminism is good for the world and the church Transgenderism is normal Modesty is outdated burden that serves male dominance and holds women back. These lies are the root of what keeps people from God. It is the truth that Rosaria brings forth thru her own experience, study, family, and church that is a shining light of hope. Lies do not bring hope and we need the hope of the truth that Christ testified. It is not about our feelings but the truth. We need the truth of the gospel. The gospel is not a get out of jail card but a realization that there is more. A life that is abundant in worship and awe of the God that saves. Praying that others will be blessed by this book. A special thank you to Crossway Publishing and netgalley for the aRC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

Great help for escaping the snare of the devil (2 Tim. 2:24-26)
Format: Kindle
The five lies this book was written to expose and equip believers in Christ to dismantle were well selected. The list represents the myriad falsehoods unleashed in our present age by the liar and father of lies, the devil (Jn. 8:44). And, that our present age is anti-Christian is evident to anyone using the Bible as the rule for Christian faith and practice. In fact, the seemingly universal celebration of all who reject the created order of the two sexes—whichever way they choose—practically confirms the truth of Scripture. The false community it forms has no other unifying factor than shared rebellion against biblical authority. Like Carl Trueman, in his book The Strange New World, the author succeeds in calling for a compassionate but firm response to deceptions about human personhood. In her case, deceptions she once held dear, and by which she was once held captive. A difference is that, while Trueman’s approach is more historical and philosophical, Butterfield’s is more personal, pastoral, and Bible oriented. The testimony of her own conversion is compelling. Like the apostle Paul who became a planter of churches after having persecuted the Church, she balances her warnings against the lies with biblical exhortations of how to live-out the truth. In her chapters on modesty, she demonstrates how the internet in general, and social media in particular, have been abused to blur the distinction between what is public and what should be kept private. Her observations about narcissism, non-accountability, and exhibitionism, are worth noting. The only reason I give this book four stars instead of five is that the appendix seemed superfluous. In my opinion, the oft-quoted statement attributed to Mies Van Der Rohe (1886), “Less is More,” applies. While I believe the guidance on how to read the Bible is generally good, it seemed to promote the author’s loyalty to her denomination rather than adding anything germane to the book. It also seemed more appropriate for a pastor to teach his congregation than for a pastor’s wife to teach the Church at large. For me, it detracted from the very modesty of role that the book otherwise encouraged so well. That said, I recommend the book as a whole. The Scripture it brought to mind is Ephesians 4:14-16. As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love. (NASB 95).

What does it mean to be a Christian, and how is our culture, sexually and spiritually, at odds with biblical teaching? Butterfield—a former lesbian and Women’s Study professor, now a pastor’s wife, homeschooler, and author—weaves her own story with research for those, like me, who want to understand how to respond to cultural challenges from the standpoint of a biblical Christian.
