This beautiful opuntia, a Claude Barr selection, has long white spines on dark purple pads of that shimmer green, becoming more purple in winter cold or drought. If the striking dark purple pads weren't enough, the show continues into late spring to early summer when the bright, lavender-pink flowers with golden stamens first bloom. This variety stays around 10" tall x 4' wide in sun and rocky, well-drained soil.
