Flowers start as white buds, then open to varying shades of pink and white on the same flower stem. The overall effect is a soft, gentle wave of color with a sweetly fragrant aroma. Flower stems are medium tall, 6 10 inches. The calyces are pink and green,

'Melissa' appreciates very good drainage and a moderate pruning after flowering to prevent it from becoming woody.
This is a great specimen to toss in your lavender collection to give it a bit of a zing, but will also brighten up any dark flowered hot sun perennial border.
