The plant is characterised by its dense covering of trichomes, giving it a frosted appearance, and its tendency to curl and contort as it matures. It produces tubular purple flowers emerging from pinkish bracts during its flowering phase.
Care Tips:
- Light: Prefers bright, filtered light. Avoid direct sun for prolonged periods, as it may cause leaf desiccation.
- Water: Mist thoroughly 2–3 times per week, ensuring good air circulation for drying. Soaking can be done occasionally but avoid water pooling in the leaf base.
- Humidity: Thrives in 50–80% humidity; higher humidity supports better growth and flowering.
- Temperature: Maintain between 15–30°C. It does not tolerate frost.
- Fertiliser: Apply a diluted (¼ strength) bromeliad or orchid fertiliser monthly during the active growing season.
