A small, clumping bamboo species, it is native to China. Thriving in partial to full shade, it's well-suited for USDA zones 5 to 9. This beautiful and cold hardy clumping or noninvasive bamboo prefers moist, well-drained soil and resists harsh winter conditions, making it ideal for a variety of climates. Does not do well in the hot and humid South East States.

Typically, Fargesia Rufa grows up to 8 - 10 feet tall, forming dense clumps with slender, arching canes. The foliage is lush and green, creating a vibrant, textured appearance.

Ideal for privacy screens, hedges, or as a garden focal point, Fargesia Rufa requires minimal care. It needs regular watering, particularly in dry conditions, and benefits from occasional fertilization.

Unlike some bamboo species, Fargesia Rufa is non-invasive, making it a popular choice for residential landscapes.
