Argemone polyanthemos, commonly known as the white prickly poppy, is a striking and resilient native wildflower that brings a touch of rugged beauty to arid landscapes and prairie gardens. This spiny, upright perennial showcases deeply lobed gray-green foliage that contrasts dramatically with its large, delicate white flowers, each adorned with a cluster of vibrant yellow stamens at the center. Thriving in well-drained, sunny soils, it flourishes across the central and southwestern United States, often dotting plains, open grasslands, and rocky sites with its elegant blooms. Beyond its ornamental appeal, Argemone polyanthemos serves an ecological role, attracting bees and other pollinators while adding textural interest with its distinctive spiny leaves. Ideal for xeriscapes and native plant gardens, this hardy poppy embodies both the beauty and toughness of the landscapes it inhabits, creating a natural yet eye-catching presence in any garden setting.

Growing Instructions for the White Prickly Poppy

The seeds can be sown on the ground and then watered. They will germinate in 2 weeks. 1. Prepare a mixture of half potting soil and half sand, perlite or vermiculite. Water the mixture so that it is moist but not wet. 2. Put the seeds on the soil. 3. Water the seeds. 4. Place the pots in an area with warm temperatures in full sun or part shade. 5. When the seedlings are a few inches tall, they can be transplanted.

IT WORKS GREAT for Poison Oak & Poison Sumac
Fantastic soap for my extreme case of Poison Oak & Poison Sumac all over my arms and legs! It helps with the horrible itching. I use it every time I wash my hands to keep the contamination under control. It smells good also. I would highly recommend it! Note: I am also using prescription steroid cream and Ivarest Poison Oak & Poison Sumac wiping pads (also works).

    Helps with the itch.
It seems that nothing helps with the itch from an encounter with poison ivy. This product was very good for the itching, it helped me for several hours after my cool shower each day. I would buy this again if the need should arise.

I would never be with out this and calamine lotion!
Good stuff. Try to use it as soon as possible after contact with poison plants. I keep using it until the rash subsides. Leave it on for a few minutes before rinsing. My yard has a lot of poison ivy, so I make sure I always have it on hand.

    Strong Smell
This soap confuses me a little bit, I thought it wouldn't have a smell since the listing said: 'It's free of harsh chemicals, parabens, GMOs, petroleum, phthalates, and artificial dyes and scents, so it is 100% safe and effective. ' But it definitely has a distinct and pretty strong soapy smell, so if you are someone with very sensitive skin be warned, because it is strong.
