Non-GMO Sweet Alyssum Royal Carpet seed in compostable pouch. Short growing only 3-6" tall with multiple flowers lavender in color and produce a unique fragrance. Semi-drought tolerant Sweet Alyssum does require adequate water to get it established. Grows best in full sun to part shade.

Caution: These seeds are extremely small and difficult to spread evenly by hand. Hand application often leads to clumping and over-seeding. For best results, pair seed packets with our Easy Spread Shakers, or our Easy Spread Bulk Containers and apply with a handheld spreader.

USDA Hardiness Zones: 5-9
Height: 3-6" (with blooms)
Bloom/Period: Yes, spring, summer, fall
Sunlight: Full sun to part shade
Soil: Grows well in sand, silt, and loam.
Drought Tolerance: Moderate
Maintenance Needs: Moderate
Pairs Well With: Fine Fescue (Low Mow) Grass, Clovers, Self-Heal, Creeping Thyme, English Mixed Daisy, White Yarrow
  • How To Start Your Flowering Lawn Journey -- No need to remove grass; simply mow existing grass very short then use the carton to mix the seed packets with the carrier product and spread the flowering lawn seed into the grass evenly using the carton as a spreader, water, and watch it grow! Or dormant seed over fresh snow on a calm day when the ground is frozen.
  • Better For Your Family & The Environment -- Our specialty flowering lawn seed is kid and pet friendly. It attracts beneficial pollinators while reducing your property's carbon footprint!
  • Reduce Maintenance Costs -- Sweet Alyssum reduces the need to mow. Once your flowering lawn is established, it won't require watering, except in periods of extended drought.
  • What To Expect When Using Flawn Seed -- With regular watering, Sweet Alyssum  will germinate in 2-3 weeks, and plants will be small for the first couple of months. After the first growing season, it will bloom low-growing lavender flowers about 3-6” from July to September. Creating a vital nectar and pollen source for our friendly pollinators. Watering regularly after seeding and through dry periods is critical for success.
  • Pure Flower Seeds -- Unlike other brands, Flawn Seed doesn't use grass seed fillers. Flowering seeds have longer germination periods and mature slower than grasses. Mature flowering lawns with many blooms can take up to 6-24 months to fully establish, especially in thicker grass lawns that have been heavily fertilized in the past.

Seeding Information:

When to Seed: Spring, late summer, or early fall when rains are frequent and temperatures are moderate. Do not seed if a frost is forecast. Can also be dormant seeded on frozen ground.

Site Preparation: Mow at .5-1", remove clippings and rake any additional thatch. The soil must be visible and loosened up before seeding or seed will likely not grow.

Watering: Lightly water after seeding to start germination process. Prevent soil from completely drying out for a period of 1-2 weeks, then water as needed if seedlings start wilting.

Mowing: Maintain a height of 3" for the first year. This prevents the grass and any weeds from crowding out the baby Flawn seedlings.

Fertilizer: For lawns that have not been fertilized recently it may be beneficial to apply a low nitrogen organic fertilizer 2-3 months after seeding such as a 8-0-4 or similar.

Weed Control: It is best to remove excessive weeds by hand or natural methods before seeding. After seeding, remove unwanted weeds as desired. WARNING: Do not broadcast apply weed killers as they will kill the plants.

Not that great
Huge "The Simpsons" fan. I watched all the episodes and read a lot of the comics and enjoy most. This one however was quite boring. Turns out I'm just not a big fan of Chief Wiggum. I really enjoyed The "Homer" and "Bart" book. But not this one. Maybe if you love Wiggum you'll love it. If you're not too fond of him then I wouldn't buy it.

Good for my collection.
Format: Hardcover
This was another quick and entertaining read. This instalment wasn't as enjoyable as some of the other books but it was still good. I'm glad to have it in my collection.

Go-Go and Buy this Book
This was the twelfth Simpsons Comics book I've read and, while it's not the best of the dozen, it is still a very funny book and a must for the Simpsons comics connoisseur (you got to love the cover art). Here's what you get: "Rhymes and Misdemeanors": Martin Prince is in love with Lisa and, when his love is unrequited, they both do battle in the form of poetry readings at a nightclub dissing each other. "The Great Springfield Frink-Out": A giant mishap occurs at the Frink labs (actually someone put tin foil in the microwave). This event causes everything to be topsy-turvy in Springfield, for example, Marge is the mayor, Homer is a mobster, Cecil is the celebrity clown, and Bart has ambitions to be as cool as Milhouse. "Tiger Teen": Fun mock mini mag in the style of those old 16 and Tiger Beat teen magazines of our youth. Of course, this one features Homer's barber shop group Be Sharps ("Homer Answers 40 Intimate Questions"-is that a perfect copy of those teen magazines or what?). There are also a few familiar names of 80s pop stars on the cover ("Cory Hart Takes off his Sunglasses-Exclusive photos!") "Burnsie on Board": Mr. Burns tries to live out his boyhood dream of being an Olympic skiing gold medalist by enlisting the help of Bart. "To Live and Diaper in Springfield": To pay for an expensive toilet paper dispenser Homer desires from an extravagant shopping network, Marge starts a daycare center. Her attention to other babies (particularly the one with the single eyebrow) causes Maggie to run away. "Fan-Tasty Island": Mr. Burns needs a rare toxin to get by the Coalition to Reduce Air Pollution. This toxin can only be found inside a wood carving on a remote island. The perfect cover-up is to send a family to find the treasure-the Simpsons, of course. Very funny comic, but the ending is a little far-fetched.
