Variety description (provided by the Arnold Arboretum): ‘Gus Mehlquist’ sprawling sand cherry is a rapid spreader, growing 3 feet per year once established. It is entirely prostrate, forming a dense mat as it roots along its stems. It stands only 6-12 inches above the ground, compared to the 9-foot-tall height that a typical sand cherry shrub can attain. With ornamental foliage, flowers, fruit, and form, it is a standout during all four seasons. Flowers are dainty with five white petals, followed by blue-black fruits in September. It has elliptic dark green foliage through the growing season, with fall color displaying vibrant crimson and maroon hues. New stem growth is a warm brown turning to gray in maturity, marked with white lenticels. 'Gus Mehlquist’ sprawling sand cherry performs well in normal garden conditions and displays bolder fall foliage when planted in full sun. It is extremely adaptable to both dry and wet sites. It is also remarkably hardy – it can withstand garden transplanting and bounce back with no issue after animal browsing.

In 1990, Harvard University research scientist David Boufford and Robert Nicholson, former Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University assistant plant propagator, found an extremely low-growing sprawling sand cherry growing along the bank of the Connecticut River in Cheshire County, New Hampshire. A division was harvested on that spring day, which flourished into a thriving plant in the landscape beds adjacent to the Arnold Arboretum’s Dana Greenhouses. Nicholson introduced the exciting horticultural find as ‘Gus Mehlquist’ in 1993 through the New Plant Forum of the International Plant Propagator’s Society (IPPS) in conjunction with the Smith Botanic Garden, where he was employed at the time of release. The cultivar name ‘Gus Mehlquist’ honors honor of the University of Connecticut plant breeding and biology professor Dr. Gustav Mehlquist (1906-1999). Like Nicholson, Dr. Mehlquist was also an active IPPS member.

Comfortable, supportive, and well-made
Size: 36DD, Color: Brown Purple
I absolutely love this bra. It fits great and is so comfortable. I forget I’m even wearing it. No adjusting it during the day, ever. Soft. Beautiful color. Just absolutely love. Coming back to buy several more in different colors.

wash carefully
Size: 38F, Color: Sargasso
Loved this bra so much that I immediately ordered a second one, but the wire broke through on the first wash. Still love it and will probably repurchase again because the fit is perfect, but if you're like me and just throw your bras in with the rest of your clothes, be sure to wash them on a delicate cycle! Other than that this is a fantastic bra. Good price, true to size, looks great and is super comfortable!

Ordered 3
Size: 44C, Color: Black
Great bra, pretty true to size, comfortable. Ordered one in fall and tried several other name brand underwire bras (lane bryant, Victoria Secret, Bali, Torrid, Hanes), returned most of them and came back for two more colors of this brand that I’d never heard of before. The material is nice, they fit well, I wash in cold on delicate and hang dry: so far so good. I normally take a 42C and went 44 for these. I think a 42 probably woulda been ok (I’m on the middle hook) but someone said they ran small. I’m not sure of that but keep it in mind if you’re maybe between sizes.

The BEST BRA for big bewbs!
Size: 36G, Color: Black
I've been a fan of Delimira for a while - it's hard to find a well made, comfortable, breathable bra for larger cup sizes at a price that doesn't require taking out a mortgage to afford it. I love this bra. It fits well, it's comfortable, it doesn't get hot, it seems really durable, and it's...sturdy. The underwire is not annoying, and while it's not the cutest bra, it's also not the most matronly bra I own. I have it in all three available colors and will 100% buy more colors should they ever release them.

Didn’t last for very long. Comfortable
Size: 42DD, Color: Beige
Comfortable bra. Good price but the wire popped out on one side after about 8 times of wearing it. Maybe it was the way I laundered it. It’s comfortable enough to want to order again and test that theory.
