Perfect fit and functioning. Excellent support
The starter fit perfectly, in my Mercruiser 4.3 from 2004, although it was awkward to replace on my engine due to space constraints. I had a few questions for the supplier and quickly received very descriptive answers. Now the starter works perfect in my boat. In all a very good choice which I really can recommend others.

New starter
Part came promptly and was a direct match to the original starter. I did a bench test prior to install and had no issues.

Bit Longer than Genuine Quicksilver Starter Not same fit
Itβs close to the Quicksilver Mercruiser starter but itβs not the same length and size. Also the internal gear sits differently. My 2012 Tahoe Mercruiser Alpha 3.0 has a back bracket that would not fit on because this starter is longer. I didnβt take the risk of testing it out by starting it as I noticed the gear inside sits a bit different and there is a knob on the front of the housing as the original does not. Iβm not taking any chances. I just returned it and ordered the actual Quicksilver Starter thatβs a little more $$ but totally worth it to have a proper fit.

failed after 2 months of use
This starter has failed after less than one year in use. Used for 1 month last summer then, over the winter I had my boat winterized and upon summerizing it, the starter displayed a "flat" spot where it would not crank unless turned and tried again. It now doesn't turn over my engine. I'd like a refund or replacement. Do not recommend cheap knock offs for boat parts...
