This vintage Mid Century Modern five-drawer dresser is attributed to John Van Koert for Drexel and reflects the clean-lined, functional aesthetic associated with American modern design of the mid-20th century. The dresser features a warm wood veneer with visible grain patterning across the drawer fronts, framed by subtly recessed case studies that add depth and visual structure.
The piece offers five spacious drawers, providing ample storage. Each drawer is fitted with round wooden pulls mounted on circular backplates, a design detail commonly seen in Drexel productions from this period. The dresser stands on tapered legs, giving it a light, elevated profile consistent with Mid Century Modern design principles.
The top surface is flat and generously sized, suitable for use in a bedroom, guest room, or as a storage piece in a living space.Overall, the dresser maintains a balanced and restrained form, emphasizing proportion, practicality, and material quality. This piece is attributed based on stylistic characteristics and construction details; no maker's label or stamp was observed.
