Welcome to Sheldon's Sock Club - a monthly subscription featuring Ltd Ed colorways.

Each month's subscription will have a full skein of fingering weight sock yarn plus either 2 coordinating minis or a coordinating half skein. It's a chance for me to play with some colorways and a chance for you to create some fun socks! Colorways will include variegated (some may be wild!) and tonals. The other photos shown are examples of past month’s offerings that may or may not still be available.

The main base will be Practicality 75/25 - 75% Superwash Merino / 25% Nylon with 463 yards per 100 gram skein.

The Sock Club may occasionally switch to other bases such as the ones listed below or a new Ltd Ed base! If the month’s subscription will be a different base from Practicality 75/25, you will have the chance to pause your subscription for the month if it is a base you prefer not to have. Other bases may include…

  • Rainbow Tweed - 85% Superwash Merino / 15% Rainbow Donegal Nep 2 ply 437 yards per 100 gram skein

Your monthly Sock Club subscription will include

  • 1 full skein (100 grams) of sock yarn
  • 2 20 gram mini skeins in coordinating colors OR 1 half skein in a coordinating color
  • this sock club is just yarn - no pattern 
  • there may be occasional discounts and goodies 😊

A note on the coordinating mini or half skein - the colorway may be an existing color, it may be new colors or it may be one of a kind colors. 

FAQs

I subscribed - when is my first shipment? If you subscribe by the 20th, your first shipment will ship at the end of the same month. If you subscribe after the 20th, your first shipment may ship at the end of the month or at the beginning of the following month depending on how much is already in stock.  

I subscribed - which month will my first shipment be for? No matter when you subscribe in the current month, your first shipment will be for the next month. For example - you purchased your subscription on January 1st, the first shipment will be for February or you purchased your subscription on January 31st, the shipment will be for February.

I missed out on a past month set, can I order it? Yes - there are limited quantities available until they run out. 

How much is the subscription? A Sock Club Subscription is $36. Any extra sets that are available will be listed at $43+.

Accessible, fun, and exciting.

While this book is aimed at younger readers (it includes, for examples, expletives like "Zooks!" and "Zounds!"), I Escaped The Tower of London is a neat historical fiction novella with taught pacing that readers of all ages can enjoy. Using the real-life account of John Gerard as inspiration, the authors have created a young boy who escapes from the Tower of London while attempting to aid Princess Elizabeth during Queen Mary's reign. It's exciting, it fast-paced, and it even has a pleasant message about doing the right thing — even when the right thing is hard to do. It's packed with a hodgepodge of images (most of them public domain, but also a few original pieces) that add to the experience. And the end includes a brief lesson on the historical figures involved. Despite the source material, you shouldn't worry if you (or your young ones) are squeamish; the main character sidesteps the torture and there's very little violence. All in all, quite a good read. Very accessible, surprisingly fun and exciting.

What an amazing story that tells about history from the perspective of a kid named Ben that was pretty much forced (but was thankful for the work) to work with coal in the Tower of London, to find out Princess Elizabeth was arrested and sent to the same tower. The plot thickens as he helps her escape. He was met with many challenges, but his best friend Tim helped him always, what a faithful friend! I absolutely love and adore this story because it’s based on history and real life facts, these things actually happened! But when you read it, the author has written it so well it almost sounds like a fantasy! I can’t wait to read more, it’s such a great book, I give it 5 stars but really it deserves 10! Highly recommend!
