A rare archival piece from Dries Van Noten’s S/S 1999 collection, this dress is a masterclass in structure and subtle drama. Crafted from black cotton with tonal woven satin stripes, it features a slim tailored bodice with delicate spaghetti straps and a full front button closure.
The back reveals Van Noten’s signature genius: an architectural bustle that transforms into a convertible train, constructed with an interior belt and adjustable ties and buttons for customizable volume and shape. Both striking and restrained, this piece is a study in silhouette and intention.
