• FIRST PRESSING ON TERRIFYINGLY ORANGE VINYL

More spooky tales of vampires and devils from the leader of underground pioneers Half Japanese – Jad Fair – and new songwriting partner, the cassette culture savant Samuel Locke Ward.  Hold onto your wigs as you step off the path into the cemetery mist for a monster filled adventure into the unknown!

Jad Fair once told me there are only two types of songs, “love songs and monster songs” – and here we have 18 prime examples of the latter… Woo. I’m excited. Goblins, shrinking men, vampires, invisible men… none of your rubbish two-bit monsters here. Woo. I am stoked. A new collaboration between Jad Fair and Samuel Locke Ward! Wait… who?

Sam Locke Ward is a home taper and comic book zine maker from Iowa. He says, “I like chords with some high notes and some low notes in them but with an emphasis on the sad note.”

Jad Fair (born June 9, 1954) is an American singer, guitarist, graphic artist, and founding member of lo-fi alternative rock group Half Japanese. Kurt Cobain once wrote, “With my headphones on, Jad and l share our little secret walking through shopping malls and airports”, but he’s been a long time dead now so we’ll just enjoy that sweet imagery and move along.

Destroy All Monsters is like Happy Hearts, sort of not. It’s minimal. It’s beautiful. There is something that sounds like a xylophone. There is a lot of repetition, building tension. Many of the songs contain warnings, especially when it comes to being stalked by invisible men or walking with the walking dead. It is everything Jeff Wayne’s War Of The Worlds is not. It is spooky, extra-spooky. It is totally engaging. If it was a book, it would be called unputdownable. But it’s not a book. It’s an album – and a very heart-warming, generously-given album too. There’s no room for negativity here. Monsters often get a bad press, but not here. Jad and Sam see the beauty and delight in everything. Often, it feels like a High School Confessional, except most High School Confessionals do not concern themselves with monsters. If you’re an old school Half Japanese fan, you may want to skip straight to the loopy playground chant of ‘Pumpkin Head’. There again, you may not. This is not Half Japanese. This is Jad and Sam.

Not for me
Color: Khaki, Size: Throw(50×60in)
It was soft but so thin. I don't know how it had a such a high review. People be doing too much and not being honest. It's getting ridiculous. If AI is involved that would explain it. Not warm. Not thick. Not big enough... it's a no for me

Obsessed With This Ultra Soft, Fluffy, Cozy Blanket
Color: 02 Crystal Pink, Size: Twin (60" x 80"), Color: 02 Crystal Pink, Size: Twin (60" x 80")
I absolutely love this blanket. I ordered the crystal pink color in the 60x80 size to use as a throw blanket for my new cloud couch in my office, and honestly it ended up being exactly what I was hoping for. The material is incredibly soft, fluffy, and comfortable without feeling thin or cheaply made. I’ve actually been searching for another blanket similar to one I previously owned that eventually got a hole in it, and this one gave me that same cozy feeling immediately. It’s one of those blankets you instantly want to curl up in the second you touch it. One thing I really liked is that the bubble texture actually has dimension and volume to it. A lot of blankets advertised with this kind of design end up looking flat in person, but this one genuinely has that plush “bubble” effect and makes the blanket feel extra cozy and luxurious. The size is also great. It’s large enough to comfortably use on a couch while still being big enough for a twin bed if you wanted to use it that way. For me personally, it’s the perfect oversized throw blanket size. I honestly have nothing negative to say about it. The quality feels great, the stitching looks well done, the color is beautiful, and overall it feels thoughtfully made rather than cheaply mass produced. For around $25, I absolutely think it’s worth it. This has easily become one of my favorite cozy blankets in the house.

Mediocre and lacks required fabric content label
Color: 01 Off White, Size: Twin (60" x 80"), Color: 01 Off White, Size: Twin (60" x 80")
I am a "blanket person," meaning I love to be cozy, curled up on the couch, watching movies with my family, and using many different layers and types of blankets on my bed for different seasons. I was excited to order this 3D bubble fleece blanket by Lotus Karen because I have another 3D bubble fleece throw blanket that I absolutely love. The other one has a sherpa lining, which makes it a bit too warm for warmer seasons. This one by Lotus Karen is unlined, which I expected as the listing doesn't say it is lined. However, I'm feeling let down over the softness of the fleece compared to my other one. They all look similar in list photos, but they do not feel the same. After I unfurled this one onto my bed to let it fluff up, which it did after 90-minutes, but instead of the pile feeling plush and silky (like faux rabbit) this one feels more rough. It's not as high quality fleece, even though it looks the same in photos. Undeterred, I still really wanted to like this blanket and went to put it into the laundry, hoping it would bring out the best in it. However, I noticed that there is no fabric content label at all. Not just missing care instructions, but no label of any kind. Under the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Textile Products Identification Act, it is a violation of United States federal law to sell a textile product that fails to plainly disclose its constituent fiber percentages, country of origin, and registered manufacturer identity physically attached to the product. Having the information on the online listing does not meet this requirement. Because the material is somewhat mediocre, I would have given it three stars. But because it fails to meet basic consumer protection laws, it loses all.

VERY SOFT; MY DOG’S ALREADY APPROPRIATED IT
Color: 01 Off White, Size: Twin (60" x 80")
You know a blanket’s soft when my dog immediately tries to appropriate it. This is incredibly soft, and actually pretty light; it makes for a good spring or summer blanket, or a throw in addition to something else in colder weather. (The twin is big enough that you can double it up over yourself to make it thicker in colder months.) I’m not sure while it’s called a “bubble” blanket - there is a very gentle egg crate shape to it, but it’s not rigid at all, and not dual-layer or filled with air or anything. It’s a very comfy throw (my dog can also attest to that) and for ~$20 (at the time of this review), it’s a great deal. I haven’t noticed any shedding, either, but I’m going to wash it on as gentle a cycle I can, to be safe.

This Blanket Feels Like a Warm Hug 🖤”
Size: Throw50" x 60", Color: Black, Size: Throw50" x 60", Color: Black
This faux fur throw blanket is incredibly soft and cozy, making it perfect for relaxing on the couch or adding extra warmth to a bed. The fluffy texture feels plush and comfortable, while the dark color gives it a modern and elegant look. I like how it instantly makes the space feel more inviting and stylish. It’s lightweight enough for everyday use but still feels warm and comfortable during cooler evenings. The material also looks beautiful draped over furniture as part of the décor. Overall, it’s a great decorative and functional blanket for anyone looking to add comfort and a cozy touch to their living space.”
