This gear fits 1275 engines. 1275 ring gears are distinctive from other Spridget ring gears in that the 1275 ring gear has a raised boss around one of its faces. It's inside diameter is 9-1/4". Please inspect your ring gear and measure your mounting boss to ensure you are selecting the correct part!
If you have the transmission off the engine, now is the time to inspect your ring gear. The starter motor engages the ring gear on the flywheel in order to turn over the engine. Over time, the teeth can wear down, chip or even break. If you need to replace the ring gear, heat the flywheel with a torch to be remove it.
If you are removing the flywheel, you will need a lock tab and flywheel bolts.
