Never Give Up
Format: Kindle
This is a wonderful story, told in rhyme, by Elizabeth Cole. It’s about a boy named Nick who who falls the first time he tries his new skates. Dad and Mom share their own experiences and how they didn’t give up trying new endeavors. Eventually, Nick finds success after following his parents’s advice with gaining confidence along the way. He realizes that persevering had made him a stronger person.
Ms. Cole’s book is a must have in any teacher’s classroom library and used to create thoughtful discussions about never giving up. The illustrations are visually pleasing which will engage children. This book receives my highest recommendation.

Empowering Lessons for Young Minds
Format: Kindle
Perseverance Makes Me Stronger is a fantastic resource for children ages 3 to 8, skillfully addressing essential themes of self-confidence, emotional resilience, and growth mindset. This book is beautifully illustrated and written in a way that is engaging for young readers, making complex emotional concepts accessible and relatable.
The narrative introduces children to the idea that setbacks and frustrations are a natural part of life, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and self-belief. It encourages kids to embrace challenges rather than shy away from them, fostering a positive attitude toward personal growth. The examples and scenarios presented are relevant to everyday experiences that children might face, making it easy for them to connect with the characters and messages.
One of the standout features of this book is its interactive approach. The prompts and questions encourage discussions between parents and children, making it a wonderful tool for teaching emotional intelligence in a collaborative manner. This dialogue fosters a supportive environment where kids can express their feelings and learn to manage them effectively.
However, while the book delivers valuable lessons, some sections feel slightly repetitive, which may lead to a loss of engagement for more advanced readers. Additionally, a bit more variety in the examples could enhance relatability for a broader audience.
Overall, Perseverance Makes Me Stronger is a well-crafted and impactful book that provides young children with essential tools to navigate their emotions and build self-esteem. It’s a great addition to any home or classroom library and serves as a meaningful starting point for conversations about resilience and personal growth. Highly recommended for parents and educators alike!

Positive Message
Format: Kindle
This is a great book with a positive message about perseverance. I really enjoyed that the author used more than one example of what perseverance looks like and that not everyone will be an absolute expert right away, or even after a year. We all go through struggles in various stages of our lives and this is a good reminder for kids as well as the parent who might be reading to their child to have a positive mind-set. The art is very well done and enhances the story nicely. Well done and I recommend!

Teaching children to keep trying
Format: Kindle
I have read a few of Elizabeth Cole’s books, so I was pretty sure that this would be another great children’s book. I wasn’t disappointed.

REPORT THIS AD
Nick is excited when he gets new roller skates, but he soon realizes that skating isn’t as easy as he thought. He’s about to give up when his dad talks to him about it. He gives Nick several examples of people, including his mom and his friend, who persevered and achieved their goals.
It’s important to teach children that failure is part of life and that practice is important. This book does that well!
Perseverance Makes me Stronger is told in rhymes and the illustrations are cute and colorful. It helps children to learn that failure is part of life, and we need to practice in order to achieve our goals.
