Welcome to the fascinating world of evergreen indoor perennial plants! If you are looking for a truly unique euphorbia plant for your succulent collection. Look no further than 'Euphorbia lactea,' also known as Dragon Bones, candelabra spurge, candelabra cactus, mottled spurge, false cactus, and milkstripe Euphorbia! This euphorbia is referred to as "dragon bones" because of its rhombic cross-section, fleshy, thick stems that have ridged, bumpy textures that resemble the bones of a dragon.

Although it is frequently referred to as a "Dragon bones cactus," it is not actually a cactus. This is likely due to its spiny cactus-like appearance, which includes spiky, ribbed stems, that can grow up to an incredible 15 feet tall. But don't worry; this stunning houseplant is typically kept at a more manageable height of 1 to 2 feet.

Hailing from Africa and India, this euphorbia spurge plant has striking mottled branches (as its name indicates mottled spurge) with green and white lines that sometimes grow in a crested form known as Euphorbia lactea 'Cristata' (Coral cactus). Both varieties are sure to become the centerpiece of any gardener's collection.

This stunning euphorbia plant sprouts a few tiny leaves in the summer, but as the weather cools in the autumn and winter, they quickly disappear to conserve water in a thick-fleshy stem, leaving it almost entirely leafless.

The Euphorbia lactea flowers are uncommon in cultivation; when they appear on this tenacious little fighter, they are hidden in paired cyathium near the stem tips, adding mystery to its already impressive persona.

Get this - when injured, the euphorbia candelabra oozes toxic milky latex!  Don't miss out on this opportunity to add something truly exceptional to your home or garden.

Watering Needs

First, it's important to note that Euphorbia lactea is a succulent plant, which means it has adapted to survive in arid conditions and can store water in its stems. As a result, it is more tolerant of underwatering than overwatering.

When it comes to watering your Dragon Bones Euphorbia lactea, it's best to follow the "soak and dry" method. This means thoroughly watering the plant until water flows out of the drainage holes and then allowing the soil to dry out completely before watering again. During the growing season (spring and summer), you can water it every 2-3 weeks. However, during the dormant season (fall and winter), you should reduce watering to once a month or even less, as the plant requires less water during this time.

It's important to avoid overwatering, as this can lead to root rot and other issues. Always check the moisture level of the soil before watering and adjust accordingly. Additionally, make sure the pot has drainage holes to allow excess water to escape.

Remember, every spurge plant is unique, so it's essential to observe your Euphorbia lactea and adjust your watering routine based on its specific needs. If the stems start to shrivel or become soft, it may be a sign of underwatering, while yellowing or mushy stems can indicate overwatering.

Light Requirements

Like many other Euphorbias, the dragon bone's euphorbia also requires bright, direct sunlight to thrive.  These Euphorbia lactea require at least six hours of strong light each day to survive, although partial shade in the afternoon is often preferable - especially in hotter climates where the succulent plant might become stressed by the intense heat of the afternoon sun.

It's crucial to place your succulents away from any areas with constant direct sunlight, as doing so could result in burned foliage. If you notice that the spurge plant's leaves are turning yellow or brown, it may be getting too much sunlight.

In the dormant winter period, you may also want to consider moving the dragon bone cactus to a brighter location or providing them with supplemental light.

Optimal Soil & Fertilizer Needs

When it comes to the soil and fertilizer needs of the Euphorbia lactea, this spurge plant prefers a well-draining soil mix. A cactus or succulent potting mix is a great option, as it provides the right balance of moisture retention and drainage. You can also create your own mix by combining regular potting soil with perlite or coarse sand to improve drainage. Instead, make or buy a well-draining potting mix, or ideally, use our specialized succulent potting mix that contains 5 natural substrates and mycorrhizae to promote the development of a strong root system that helps your succulent to thrive.

As for fertilizing, the dragon bones cactus doesn't require frequent feeding. During the growing season (spring and summer), you can fertilize it once a year using a balanced, natural fertilizer specifically formulated for succulents. However, it's important to avoid overfertilizing, as this can cause the Euphorbia candelabra to become leggy or develop burnt tips. During the dormant season (fall and winter), you can skip fertilizing altogether, as the plant is not actively growing and doesn't require additional nutrients.

Remember, it's always a good idea to monitor your plant's growth and adjust your fertilizing routine based on its specific needs. If your euphorbia candelabra starts showing signs of nutrient deficiencies or excessive growth, you may need to adjust the frequency or strength of your fertilizing.

Hardiness Zones & More

The Dragon Bones cactus is native to tropical and subtropical regions, so it prefers warm temperatures and high humidity. It is typically hardy in USDA hardiness zones 10-11, which means it can tolerate minimum temperatures of 30- 40°F. If you live in a colder climate, it's best to keep this spurge plant indoors or provide it with protection during the winter months.

In terms of temperature, this Euphorbia lactea thrives in temperatures between 60-85°F. Avoid exposing it to temperatures below 50°F for extended periods, as this can cause damage to the euphorbia plant. If you're keeping it indoors, make sure to place it in a location where it can enjoy a consistent temperature within this range.

As for humidity, this euphorbia plant appreciates higher humidity levels, similar to its natural habitat. You can increase humidity around it by placing a tray filled with water near it or using a humidifier. Another way to add moisture to the leaves is to mist them occasionally. However, be cautious not to mist it too frequently, as excessive moisture can lead to fungal diseases.

Don't miss out on this opportunity to add something truly exceptional to your garden. Order your very own Euphorbia lactea Dragon bones cactus today!

Love These Monitors - Nothing But Love/Performance Here!
First and foremost, yes these are the BEST budget CURVED monitors I felt deservers my time, effort and money. I've been into electronics and computers since the beginning of BBS's. Lol. I wanted to upgrade and bought the dual setup during Amazon day. Blew me away. Couple tips I'll share so that you can get the Most out of these monitors. Tips: 1 - Don't buy CRAP cables. DON'T. Look at the specs, the refresh rates and what they are capable of - speed!!!; 2 - Make sure you have a GOOD quality GPU. If not you won't even be able to enjoy the investment of the these monitors. Invest in a GPU of at LEAST 8GB 1080p min with BOTH DP and HDMI ports.; 3 - With that being said, these monitors use MST!! Daisy chain them together off the DP port for an AMAZING viewing pleasure. If not, you CAN you both ports. Run your main to from the DP port (WAY BETTER quality than the HDMI) and the other using the HDMI 1.2. Again, CABLES ARE IMPORTANT. Crap cables = degregaged signal/sound loss. 4 - When you get it/them make SURE your GPU drivers are up to date. Configure on your operating system and BOOM.. ready to rock. I researched PLENTY of options and I'm ESTACTIC about these. I believe the deal I got was UNREAL for the price, QHD monitors and almost ..almost everything I needed. 1440p - incredible. Ebay/AMZ for a GOOD GPU card and cables.. well worth your time.

Great value and great monitor
Size: 27"/QHD/200Hz
As a note to new buyers: a chemical-like odor may be emitted from your monitor's exhaust for the first 2-3 weeks--at least mine did. I did some research and this was likely attributed to some cleaning chemicals from the factory, and it is burning off from the heat of the monitor. Simply have good ventilation in your room, and the odor should dissipate in 2-3 weeks. I've had this monitor for over a year now, and there is no odor anymore. Now, for the actual review: This monitor is great quality for the price! Not perfect, as I've found this monitor doesn't display smooth gradients of dark very well. For example, when I'm in a dark room in a video game, the dark ambient colors show slightly pixelated rather than smoothly blended. Other than that, this monitor works like a charm! Colors are great, and monitor settings are easily adjustable. One complaint I have is that I can't change the monitor's brightness using the Windows OS' brightness settings--you have to change the brightness/contrast using the monitor's buttons.

A great value for a state of the art monitor.
I use two of these at my home work station. I am not a gamer, I use these mainly for working on multiple spread sheets and financial programs. The high pixel count of these 8k video displays makes it easy to read the screens. I have Windows 11 on my computer, so installation of the 3 monitors was easy. I have my computer monitor set at 150% and these two monitors set at 125% magnification. All three are at eye level. They came with display port cables which my computer and hubs do not have, so I in a 8K HDMI cable for each. I do play a few videos, and those look great. The curved screen helps in keeping all the monitor sort of equidistant from my eyes which helps everything on the 3 screens stay in focus for my 80 year old eyes. I have reflections on my computer screen, but both of these Koorui monitors are reflection free. I first went to Costco to pick up a monitor and this allowed me to zero in that I wanted the 8k and curved screen in a 24 or 27 inch monitor. They did not have that combination. I tried just one of the Koorui monitors along with my older monitor. The Koorui was so far superior that I quickly purchased the second one and tossed out my outdated one. I use these for hours each day, and at this low price I feel I can easily justify this investment. I feel secure these monitors will be with me for a long time.

This sucks.
Well i picked this up on sale for black friday and finally got around to installing my new video card, psu, extra ssd, and finally hooking up this new monitor. The new video card doesn't have a spot for the cable from my old 1080p monitor, so this is the only monitor i can use. It's christmas eve btw. Anyways the monitor fires up fine and looks great for about 6 hours of use. Then as i'm getting ready to boot up elden ring a big vertical magenta line of pixels appears on the right half of the screen, as well as a grey horizontal line of pixels. I didn't do anything before this happened, the monitor was sitting completely still on my desk. One second it worked the next i've got this line. I tested another cable, and while unplugging the displayport cable from the monitor the pink line stayed there as it was registering "no input." So it's definitely the monitor that's broken and not something wrong with my video card or software. I tried contacting technical support early in the morning and still haven't received anything at 5 pm. I realize it's christmas eve but I'm now stuck without a functioning monitor for probably my entire time off for christmas, and will have to pay return shipping, which soaks up all the money i saved getting it on sale. Over all i'm very unhappy with this purchase. edit: Koorui, the manufacturer, never got back to me about the broken monitor they sent me, so i contacted amazon and told them my situation. they told me they couldn't send a replacement because it wasn't available, even though you can order the exact monitor off amazon through prime right now. this order was a critical failure in service with both koorui and amazon. they can't seem to lift a finger for someone who paid them money for a product they sell. they want me to ship the monitor back, receive my money back, then purchase the same monitor for a higher price from them. I'm changing my review to 1 star and i would give 0 stars if i could. unbelievable. edit: ok i shipped the monitor back. they sent me a replacement monitor and this monitor also does not work. it doesn't turn on. i plugged it into both a surge protector and a power strip, then switched the cable and it doesn't turn on. i would be extremely wary of this company and their products. edit 2: by far my worst purchasing experience on amazon. with the second broken monitor they shipped me the support guy actually asked if i would take it to a tv repair shop. i told him we don't have that in the united states and returned the item for a full refund. they got to keep my $150 for about 3 months though. these people should not be allowed to sell on amazon.
