One 40g serving provides 10.5g of protein and 21.4g of carbohydrates, in a ratio that suits your body's post-exercise needs: protein for your muscles and carbohydrates for your energy stores.

What this shake does

Protein contributes to the growth and maintenance of muscle mass. With 10.5g of whey protein per serving, you provide your body with the building blocks it needs immediately after exercise.

Carbohydrates contribute to the recovery of normal muscle function (contraction) after highly intensive and/or prolonged physical exercise leading to muscle fatigue and depletion of glycogen stores in skeletal muscles. This beneficial effect is obtained with a total intake of 4g of carbohydrates per kg of body weight, consumed in several doses, with the first dose taken within 4 hours and the last no later than 6 hours after exercise. One serving of Recovery Shake provides 21.4g of carbohydrates as part of your total post-exercise carbohydrate intake and is ideally combined with a balanced meal within this time frame.
