If you do not win the auction, your $2 join fee will be reimbursed immediately after the auction ends (via autogenerated voucher delivered to your email) This voucher can be used as a credit towards another item OR reused to cover the join fee for the next auction your participate in.
There is no $2 join fee required in order to make offers or purchases on non-auctioned items. The $2 join fee ONLY pertains to bidding on marquee auction items.
Reserve price and Base price are set to the same value for ALL auctions. This way, at the time when the join fee is paid, it is transparent to the bidder what the reserve price is set to.
