Description
Few plants perform in shade like the beautiful Big Daddy Hosta. You'll get lovely blue-green color and richly textured leaves in an easy to grow perennial that returns year after year. The Big Daddy is a favorite for its shade tolerance, great look, and high slug resistance.
This attractive hosta boasts showy, blue leaves that are thick, cupped, and heavily textured as they mature. The large leaves become dark green as they age, generally in late summer. In summer, white bell shaped flowers emerge from the center of this low maintenance perennial. The Big Daddy Hosta matures to about 2.5 feet tall and 3.5 feet wide.
Hostas thrive in full to part shade and are adaptable to just about any soil. Once established hostas are drought tolerant. Big Daddy Hostas are unusually slug resistance due to the thickness and texture of the unique leaves. This Hosta is extremely low maintenance.

How To Care
Hostas thrive in full to part shade and are adaptable to most soils and pH levels. Big Daddy Hostas go dormant in in late fall or winter, but come back year after year. Dead foliage may be removed any time after your plant goes dormant. Water your newly planted Hosta deeply a couple times per week to encourage the roots to grow properly. Once established hostas are drought tolerant however they will perform best with a moist soil. Big Daddy Hosta plants are unusually slug resistance due to the thickness and texture of the unique leaves. This Hosta is extremely low maintenance. Fertilize with our balanced, slow release fertilizer in spring for best growth.
