Aptenia cordifolia - Baby Sun Rose

Aptenia cordifolia, commonly known as Baby Sun Rose, is a fast-growing, low-maintenance succulent with heart-shaped green leaves and small, vibrant pink or red flowers that bloom throughout the warmer months. This trailing ground cover is ideal for adding a splash of colour to garden beds, rockeries, or containers and performs well as a hanging plant. Growing to a height of 10–15 cm and spreading up to 60–90 cm, Aptenia cordifolia is perfect for creating a dense, colourful carpet in sunny areas.

Position

Heartleaf Ice Plant thrives in full sun but can tolerate light shade. It prefers warm, dry conditions and is suitable for a variety of soil types, as long as they are well-draining. Aptenia cordifolia is drought-tolerant and performs best in mild, frost-free climates, though it can be grown as an annual in cooler areas.

Growth

This low-growing succulent forms a dense mat, reaching a mature height of 10–15 cm and spreading up to 60–90 cm. Its trailing stems make it an excellent choice for ground cover, hanging baskets, or for cascading over walls and container edges.

Planting Guide

Aptenia cordifolia grows best in well-drained, sandy or loamy soil. Plant in spring, spacing plants about 30–45 cm apart to allow for natural spreading. For container planting, use a cactus or succulent potting mix with good drainage. Position at soil level, water well, and apply a thin layer of mulch around the base if planted outdoors to suppress weeds.

Plant Care

Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings, as Baby Sun Rose is drought-tolerant. It requires very little fertilising, but a light application of a balanced, slow-release fertiliser in spring can promote growth and blooming. Trim back any leggy or overgrown stems as needed to maintain its shape and encourage fuller growth.

A data engineering journey from basic to advance topics
Format: Kindle
Is the third time that I read this book. One of the most valuable aspects is the fact that depending of your data engineering mature, you'll always find a new aspect or ideas to put in practice. Hope the second version come soon!

Lottery Book
Format: Paperback
This book contains a lot of opinions without facts. Some are true, some are not. But its a lottery, you cold pick a gold text or a text that is full of buzzwords, without any meaning, fact and useless in real life.

Glad I bought this used
Format: Paperback
It’s packed with buzzwords and adjectives, offering plenty of in-vacuum advice and self-promotional ‘hire-me’ vibes. There’s some real insight here, but it’s buried under a lot of noise.

Not useful
Format: Paperback
This book has a few pieces of good advice, but its buried under mountains of weird and amateur level musings. Example: Paul Singman advocates for eliminating ETL entirely. How? Just reprogram the applications to which you may or may not have the source code to handle your data processing. He calls Intention Data Transfer 🥴 Thanks for the advice Paul, I'll get right on that.
