This is one of those vintage coats that literally made me squeal out loud when it was presented to me! First and foremost it is in spectacular condition - it literally looks new and after it was specialty cleaned it looked even better! Second it is every inch that classic perfect Dior, Balenciaga, great couturier inspired tent coat of the fifties and in fact, Originala was one of the priciest coat lines you could buy at the time! The cut is extraordinary and even on the mannequin the photos do not convey how this will sit on a real girl. If you are a fan of these coats and seen the best of them in old photos - this is the equivalent. The coat is constructed of a lightweight silk and wool blend that has an extremely fine weave - it feels light to wear but has enough body to hold the form and structure of the coat. The cut is extremely sculptural with lots of volume. The rounded collar sits at the neck and each sleeve is finished with a simple hem, left wide and cut to the elbow. All the volume comes out from the shoulder and when on creates the most dramatic silhouette! Huge front pockets sit on either side and the back has additional fabric for maximum drama. It is exception and wonderfully made and finished! Excellent, appears unworn condition.

The cut is very forgiving - my mannequin is a size 4-6 and it is not pinned on her. It will easily work as an over-sized garment on a smaller girl and work equally well on a larger frame. If your shoulders are much more then 16-16.5" across you may find it feels a bit tight there. It has tremendous volume as it is meant to have no matter what your size! Fully lined in black silk. It closes with the large fabric covered buttons at the front and the buttonholes are properly finished. Huge top pockets sit on either side.
